The C5 Corvette's Most Annoying Problems

i am going through some troubles with my C5 as well, I found out earlier this year that C5's like their voltage. Last year my AC door wasn't working on the passenger side and it was blowing hot air instead of cold. This spring I had to put a new battery in it because it wasn't starting and somehow the passenger side AC actuator door began working again. I thought for sure I was going to have to rip out the dash and replace it but I lucked out. My ABS light was also on, I had a friend go through the grounds and clean or replace them if needed, the ABS is working properly now. Good luck on your project! The car looks great!

Does your C5 have power seats? If so, position your seat where it’s comfortable to drive. Then pull out the fuse for the power seats. This worked for me on my C5.

@@Ironworker12 It did pull the fuse when I took those seats out and out the new ones in. I’m still having a draining problem 🙃

I'd lose the kill switch.. i've seen others with kill switch having problems like this.

What is the alternative to not let the battery drain out if kill switch is not worth it? One cannot unhook the negative and plug back in when you want to drive. This would be time consuming. Any suggestions?

@@do5e I live in an apartment, car is parked in basement. There is no outlet for plugin the battery tender.

How old is your battery? 12V is considered low for an automotive battery. It should be between 12.6-12.8v

@@gregelrod8913 pretty new, less than 1 year. But this batter did die a few times before so maybe it is the battery 🥲

I have a c5 as well. The issue is the battery drain. Thinking of putting in a Kill switch. seems it is not working for you? Did you find out a solution? Please advise
