Unless you've been to the South, "Southern hospitality" is just a cliche'. Once you've been there you'll know what I'm talkin' bout. When it comes time to go home, you'll be lookin' for a reason to stay. The people are just "sweet" people. They are wonderful.

good music has no boundaries dude. I live in England, and these boys, Blackberry Smoke etc are fucking tearing it up over here.
@stuartbowden47358 жыл бұрын
Quite right, Kenny.See my comment from 2 weeks ago above (finally remembered my Google password). Saw Blackberry Smoke as well, very good indeed. My only slight concern, and this is nothing to do with the bands themselves, is that there were certain minority 'elements' in both audiences who made my partner (who is non-white, non-Christian and non-European) a mite uncomfortable with their rather overt 'confederate' attitudes, if you get my drift. It's a shame, because she likes the music as much as I do. But hey, there's a new Drive By Truckers album to look forward to at the end of the month, and my copy of the new Whiskey Myers album awaits me when I return to London in a couple of weeks.
@kennylloyd76458 жыл бұрын
Hi Stuart. Unfortunately, horribleness still thrives. Your partner sounds well cool mate and if people are too moronic to understand the concept of freedom, then what the fuck are they doing listening to music that has black origins? I went to see Blackberry Smoke in London last year, and I really adore them. I don't think I've heard a bad track by them. I can't wait til they release Like An Arrow on 14th of October! I send both love, peace and respect. Keep on rocking, and never forget that the band never chooses it's own audience
@stuartbowden47358 жыл бұрын
Kenny, I thank you for your comments. I know that by far the majority of people - including those who are 'cool' enough to make good music - have no such negative and ignorant thoughts. The poor girl refuses to wear Hijab now in London since the 'referendum', she says people have begun picking on her. Let them try in front of me, is what I say. As you observe, ignorance still lives in the minds of those less able to cope with the diversification of the planet. Rock music is one of the true uniting forces (I'm 60 years old, been there, done that) long may it continue to bring us all together. Hope to see you on November 6 at Shepherd's Bush! I remember growing up in the boonies in myaka, Florida. Then I loved on the FL line near Alabama and Georgia. Grew up on cash Jones and Alabama. Last cassettes I bought were Dwight yoakam Travis tritt and Tracy Lawrence and I was done in 97. I still went to see Hank Williams 3 and clutch and black label society but I was not impressed the last 3 -5 years I been slowly coming back and 85% if my music is new country. I love this band!!! I even like mainstream stuff like Zac brown Eric church etc.!
