My mum was from Manchester and emigrated to Canada in the 1950s. She made a roast and Yorkshire pudding every Sunday until she passed away.

I live in Australia and back in the fifties a lot of people here had Yorkshire pudding with a Sunday roast…roasts were only done on Sundays back then…chicken was a luxury unless you had them for eggs…Australians had a lot of Englands ideas for years.

My mum would make them every Sunday to have with our Sunday dinner. I’m from Lancashire as all my son’s are too. one granddaughter was born in Lancashire her brother in Yorkshire. My son has lived in Yorkshire Dales for 15 years now. Loves it.
