The Cage RUINED my E36...

Not only has the e36 been having a ton of problems lately, the cage has added so much weight that it is a workout trying to get the car around the track now. Still had an amazing time going out to where it all started. Maybe the E36 finally needs more power...

If he doesn't get stupid with the power it won't. I don't much about the aftermarket for these engines, but heck if he just had the head ported, a set of better cams, a nice header and exhaust with a tune I feel like it'd pick up enough to make it a little easier to slide and not be unreliable

Glad to see the e36 back, idk what tyre you were using, you should consider running 215/40R17. Power wise i dont think you need to go turbo on this. You can have a strong N/A, try getting injectors i dont quite remember the cc on m52b28 but between 300 to 550cc you can have good gains, do a port and polish job on the cylinder head and a fuel pump upgrade then just re-tune it. Oh and try getting a shorter ratio diff. Since you run 2.93 and ive seen what kind of tracks you run, i suggest these: 3.45 Or 3.64( good 2nd and good for 3rd as well)

Im sorry i forgot🤣🤣 clutch wise you should definitely get a racing clutch it will help so much. I took my stock clutch and turned it into a racing clutch. 4 button clutch( no springs), lightened flywheel ( 7kg) , the whole kit was done

3.91diff is goated for stock power e36's, lightweight flywheel. M52's already have pink tops(better factory injectors).

@@SnapyShotsy can’t speak for a 3.45 but I know how good the 3.91 is. I’d much rather sacrifice some higher rpm’s on the street to have useable low end power that these motors so strongly lack. Swapping to this ratio was the best mod I did to my e36 hands down.

Might need more power but maybe try easier options to boost performance. Like you said a new clutch might help because even though you stripped it the cage def adds some weight. Either way thanks for some e36 content its what I first found your channel on and it always hits diff.

Since the beginning of time I never understood how you ripped in a 2.93. A 3.91 will probably be too low for your style since you're fast AF but maybe a 3.15 or a rare 3.38 would be great for you. I have 3.38 on my turbo car

About the power, I know your pretty tired of working on cars but if you want more power in the E36 I think you should put a 3.2 S52 in it; or put high-compression internals, S52 cams, M50 intake manifold and a M60B30 throtle body on the current engine you have. Idk why but for some reason I think the E36 shoud have a straight 6 N/A engine, it was like that until now so maybe this is why. Btw keep it up with the good work 🔥🔥🔥

I dont really think that the cage added a lot of wieght. You stripped the interior at the same time so there shouldnt be a very visible difference. Unless you used a very heavy material.

s54 is expensice and constant high rpm with that 8k rev gonna kill this engine fast

@@fajnalala1976 You don't really need the 8K rpm. The engine has plenty of usable power from 3800 all the way to 8K. If you are concerned about high RPM destroying the engine you can make the limiter at 7500. Stock M54 engines top out at 6500rpm and are still very much driveable.
