It feels more like this is less an eldritch horror and more a human bio weapon gone horribly wrong. And the OP has a point, it’s made by the same developers as dead space so it’s quite logical to assume there’s a lot of similarities. Having an issue with this is like having an issue with Elden Ring being too much like dark souls. Yea they are going to be very similar as both games were made by From software, but they are still very different games.

Did anyone notice at around 1:32:37 that there is a missing vile on the far left? My wild theory is that the vile was let loose on the Charon and Jacob got infected and is slowly evolving hence his combat/reflex prowess and being able to withstand Europa's atmosphere without a helmet longer than others. I would’ve loved to have some Mr. X - Tyrant type enemy with him where he’s actively pursuing you for most of the game. Would’ve really nailed his character for me.

How so many people forget how “derivative” and “predictable” Dead Space was. Yet it took the derivative elements and adapted them well into new lore, freshening it up. That’s the difference between that and Callisto Protocol. Did Callisto Protocol adapt freshly? Sadly not. But at least it tried something new for an IP and a gameplay concept. its funny when I originally saw the trailer for Callisto Protocol I thought it was a prequel to dead space because there is an in universe story set in a prison called Dead space: catalyst, which shares a lot of elements with this story. So I was really expecting the whole thing to be caused by a marker or proto-marker. it looks like Glen Schofield wants to explore similar concepts to the dead space franchise but obviously due to copyright issues they can't be set in the same universe. I do look forward to future games in this series as I felt very let down by DS3 narratively, so I'm curious to see how this world will grow.

And it's really frustrating because I'm not getting ammo. Perhaps I missed stuff at the beginning of the game. I started playing it on medium, but I was burning through ammo, so I lowered it. They should tell you that telekinetic ability is necessary to avoid burning through ammo.

Like...I get the story is underwhelming, but you guys need to understand that there is only so much people can do, in terms of looks, the graphics are amazing - just look at the shading and the attention to detail! - and for those saying it's a dead space knock off, the same developer made both games, plus, why can't we appreciate the games without tearing it down, sure, constructive criticism can be offered, but not everything has to be negative.

If you compare it to Bioshock, you get 4 different "plasmids" including telekinetic ability in that game, and you get a Michael Jackson glove with this game. Also, that game gave you 7-8 different weapons with 3 different kinds of ammo. This game should have given us at least one "high tech" futuristic weapon.

@@ramseylambsauce if you ask me they tried to do dead space but also tried to make it different so its not a 1:1 clone but it fails in the gameplay department. Theres too much reliance on jumpscares and not enough on memorable setpieces (theres some good ones but again there needed to be more) Ammo is scarce especially early on, but because the melee combat is simple enough to understand and quite powerful by survival horror standards, you never feel super threatened, especially once you get the GRP which lets you grab and throw most smaller enemies for an instant kill. 99% of the time in survival horror instant kill weapons are scripted sections or rare resources, but in callisto it regens over time. It removes so much tension when you can instakill stuff on demand. And the story just feels like dead space (mutated humans, religious crazies, sci fi setting) but without the good characters or interesting plot development (i dont think any of us originally expected shit like the marker or brethren moons)

Definitely wait. Also don't get the PC version until its fixed. Even the strongest and most expensive hardware can't deliver stutterfree gameplay. Thanks to massive CPU bottleneck and Shader compiling. Also it has Denuvo, another performance decreasing malware. XbonerSeriesBonerX has issues with Raytracing. Half the reflections are missing etc. So the best version of this game currently is the PS5 version... 70 bucks
