This program features three short documentaries about El Paso's Mission Trail. El Paso and Juarez are both on the original Camino Real from Mexico City to Northern New Mexico, first established in 1598 by Conquistador Don Juan de Onate. His expedition named El Paso. The El Paso Mission Trail was established in 1680 when the Pueblo Indians in Northern Mew Mexico revolted and sent the Spaniards back down the Camino Real to El Paso. The Missions in El Paso were created in 1682 to minister to the Pueblo Indians who came South with the Spaniards at that time. This is possibly the most historic corridor in North America, and demonstrates how one road can have several names over time. The videos focus on El Paso's Mission Trail, and how is is celebrated in El Paso County.
