Green Lantern long ago became the designated jobber. In the fictional world of DC's superheroes, he's an A-list superstar. In our world, he never has been, and DC knows it. So whoever carries the title gets to be the guy who gets beaten up early to show a threat's serious, gets to be the guy whose equivalent to Gotham/Metropolis is wiped off the map, gets to be the guy who turns heel and becomes an insane supervillain, etc.

I'm glad for what the DCAU exists as, as much as it would be nice to have even more, but it was done so well that I can't even complain that it went out on top. If we were to have another season, I would've loved to see more episodes to look at the D-Listers, and see how weird things could get. I would have loved an episode where we are introduced to the Challengers Of The Unknown, or Slam Bradley show up for a Question/Martian Manhunter real gumshoe story. Really show us these fringes of the DC Universe, while still giving time to the League interacting with them bringing this world together. Or Hal Jordan. Could always use more Hal Jordan.

Personally for me, I have a lot of ideas of what I would have liked to see for a fourth season. They include -A return to New Genesis, see what happened to the New gods once Darkseid was no more. - More Atomic Skull -Some of the characters who only appeared in DCAU tie-in or Earth-12 comics like Animal Man and the Metal Men, with them all having an episode -Another Captain Marvel/Shazam episode -If doing time travel, then including future-set episodes with OMAC and Kamandi. -I really want to say a Doom Patrol episode too but the rights probably would have been a problem with the teen Titans appearance. -Lobo returning -The DNAliens (not the Ben 10 ones), work in that they were all left behind after Cadmus fell apart -Give Nemesis and Obsidian speaking roles. -The return of Orm fully as Ocean Master, maybe working behind the scenes to take Atlantis and the world's oceans once and for all. -Shining Knight and Etrigan teaming up, with Sir Justin not trusting Jason Blood due to his role in Camelot's fall. -And a take on the Nail series, where due to the time/space travel, several leaguers find themselves in a world where Superman is not around, thus meta humans are are lot more distrusted, the League hides in secret (with fewer of the founding members, implied to be killed by the Imperium), and the world's governments openly run Cadmus-like programs.

Great video guys my favorite part was when you talked about how Hal Jordan could have been in it, truly my favorite and most requested character for a show that had already been wrapped up for about ten years before I even started it. In all seriousness I would have loved an episode tackling the green lantern corps and the sinestro corps, perhaps an episode detailing the creation of sinestro corps and then the subsequence war with the GLC oh and the whole episode should have a running gag where the other GLs constantly talk about and praise Hal as one of there best, but he doesn't actually ever appear except for maybe a silhouette. Longtime subscriber here, and I gotta say, after watching so many of this channel's videos, I've reached a conclusion: not just the DCAU, but this entire era of DC animated media, was peak superhero content, similar to Phase 1-3 of the MCU. It's sad to say, but I don't think we'll ever get something as cool as the DCAU ever again, even if James Gunn's new DCU initiative turns out to be a hit. Oh well... At least I can still revisit these awesome movies and shows not just through streaming services, but more importantly, through the awesome Watchtower videos. Keep up the astonishing work!

Also at 4:45 you mention what if the show was still on today. If one piece can be still airing with over a 1000 episodes, and oda is building the world and stories as hes gonna along, maybe he had it planned out, but he still had to do all the work to brong his vision to life properly. DC has such a massive backlog of content. Timmverse really could've been a continuous thing with add ons and spin offs, and I'd still watch it now

They could have did stories based on this idea: First 4 episodes would be a dcau version of flashpoint with Wally west and Thomas Wayne (Batman) as the main protagonist and Wonder Woman and aquaman as the main antagonists. after flashpoint, the universe can be reset and the last episode ultimately ends with Batman Superman Wonder Woman having a meeting about who they would recruit in their superhero group. It shows pictures of flash aquaman, Martian manhunter hawkman vixen green lantern zatanna green arrow hawkgirl atom and black lightning ,black canary. The next few episodes can consist of those heroes joining Batman Superman and Wonder Woman and eventually naming themselves the justice league. The next few episodes can show facing a new legion of doom,;calibak, granny goodness and female furies and steppenwolfe. They can also face the spectre king mongul and anti monitor. They also gave a tandem of ras al ghul and vandal savage and poison ivy. The last few episodes can show Diana and Bruce officially becoming a couple, with Circe and cheetah attacking Diana again and Bruce aiding Diana and as the story progresses, he expresses his feelings for her and she feels the same way ending with them kissing. And throughout the rest of the season they have lovable and funny moments.

The space idea for JLU season 4 is very reminiscent of the later seasons of _Super Friends_ (with seasons sub-/re-titled as _The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians, Challenge of the SuperFriends, SuperFriends: The Legendary Super Powers Show,_ etc.) when they fought Darkseid and had a lot more space-based episodes, with them visiting weird alien planets like the one where John and Shayera get into that barfight. I remember watching it back around '82/'83 when I was about 8, and it introducing me to the whole concept of cosmic superhero adventures. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they were drawing inspiration from _SuperFriends_ for the concept.

I'm just south of my 56th birthday and I LOVE this channel. Seeing the 'League morph from 'Super-friends' to 'JLU' was a journey worth taking. I've loved many cartoons in my day, but JLU is really without peer here in the states (sorry, Batman TAS, you're a very close 2nd). I'm a continuity-nut as well, (helpful if you've ever followed an X-men story in the past couple of decades, but that's another company and another medium) and your attention and love for this series is why folks like me keep watching it. If it was continued with the current plot lines that were talked about. I'd be fine with a season-long Crisis on Infinite Earth Storyline. In the season they could celebrate the entire history of DC like the comic and have some episodes in the present time showing how the other leaguers are doing while other things go on like a regrouping of the Secret Society of Supervillains or a threat that will destroy Earth as the other members are gone.

For the QOTD: it honestly feels like an impossible task for me. Growing up, the Glen Murakami helmed Teen Titans was my main experience with the DC universe, with whatever JL/JLU episodes I managed to catch on the off chance I was still watching CN/Toonami. At best, maybe a story arc involving Braniac could do to make up for the Darkseid bait and switch.

For JL Season 4, I would have liked to see a bit more exploration of the Sinestro Corps. I think that unwritten episode-turned comic would have been an excellent segway for that. I'd have also liked to see Hal Jordan. And maybe even Hal Jordan, story permitting.

QOTD: Personally for another Season of Justice League Unlimited / More DCU in general I want to see more things set in The Beyond Era with an Older Terry after Bruce Wayne is gone & The Future JLU Team featuring animated adaptations of DC Characters & adjusted Storylines from DC Comics that released AFTER The JLU Show Ended! There's now a lot of Characters that have been created since The JLU Show ended & It's interesting to think about how they would be adapted for not only in The DCAU but also The Future Batman Beyond Era 🤔

Here is what a JLU Season 4 should have had, more of DC's world. What I mean by that is more locations from the comics. I also really liked the character centric episodes (exploring backstories, following a mystery, etc). I love watching your videos (and listening to the podcast) and keep up the good work. I was 11 when BTAS came out and still hold it as the pinnacle of animation and story telling. As I grew up and watched the years of Superman vs Darkseid battles happen only to finish JLU with their final battle, I can honestly say I was jumping up and down once I heard the famous line "..just how powerful I really am." I will forever miss that part of my life with the DCAU.

I hereby pitch a musical episode. I don’t know if Music Meister was created yet, but you could use Mr. Mxyzptlk. The plot could be it’s time to mess with Superman again, but he had promised to take his girlfriend out on a date to prove he cares for her. So, he gets two birds with one stone and makes the JL be like it’s some sort of musical theatre thing for the date. This pitch would be rejected immediately, but wouldn’t be fun to think about.

I like Black Lightning but it be nice if they would use Black Vulcan! like some sort of canonical story and add in Soul Power and Sparky! maybe a team up **w** or some story where they are all the same person, and it makes perfect sense!

My annual Christmas wish...aside from world peace that is, would be a Justice League Beyond series! Reading the Earth 12 comics had me hankering for some more of Terry McGinnis fighting alongside Superman, Barda, Warhawk, Aquagirl, and Green Lantern! Maybe we'd get a Flash...or Superman would meet his son that he had with Lashina. The possibilities are endless!

Its possible, given the space-centric plotline, the desire to use Adam Strange and Carter Hall and wrap up some loose ends with Thanagar, that we would have gotten a loose adaptation of the then-recent Rann-Thanagar War storyline, released in 2005

I think for a season 4, if the Bat Embargo was lifted, make in a season long celebration of that by reintegrating Batman's rogues and allies, perhaps having the Joker himself as the big bad of the season trying to make a joke out of all the other world enders by trying to make everyone go out in one glorious big bang. And perhaps, he even wins, setting off to season 5 through time travel and multiverse shenanigans to restore the surviving hero's lost world.

I would have liked to have seen the time/space travel option that was mentioned. This could have given us a proper Golden Age JSA story, another Legion story, and more. Also, I would have loved to see more of the Marvel Family. The Beyond universe would also be fun, but maybe just for one story, not a whole season.

I would have liked to see a swamp thing episode in a hypothetical addictional JLU season. If the season had been set in space that might have been a little hard to do, but the whole final section of alan moore's swamp thing was a journey through space and there's no reason why they couldnt have done a single episode back on earth as a change of pace.
