So. is there any trace of Sugawara in Dazaifu today? I went there last year and didn't see anything about him.

I've only known Osaka Tenmangu actively preserving the life of Sugawara-no-Michizane. And Kitano Tenmangu has that scroll, but nothing else other than the ox. I have sadly not been to Dazaifu. It's on the bucketlist. From the pictures I've seen, the historic sites seem a bit small. But, since Dazaifu was not a happy place for Michizane, the history may be on the down low there. Looking forward to finding out, though.
