The most optimal way to punish is from behind, then second most optimal is from above. But I'm just a low plat so take what I say with a grain of salt.

remmy just doesnt want to practice all of guns op combos for hours to learn them. You have a 50 damage true combo that can be used twice each stock and the earliest true kill confirm option in the game from anywhere on stage. Gun nair also makes it extremely safe to recover with and makes it impossible to get groundpounded.

As a person dedicated to cannon for a very long time it's nice to see that it can now string together it's moves consistently but it's sad that after the high performance with it. It’s cause it’s the easiest weapons to consistently get high damage off of catching a dodge. Once you catch a dodge it’s just brain dead damage, unlike gauntlets or scythe

@@itsadog3773 Gauntlets have a 3 part true combo off of dlight, Spear has to actually get a dodge read to do it's 4 part unjumpable combo. Gauntlets has true combos that work grounded to build damage, Spear does not. Scythe's advantage over Spear is that it can do a lot with a dodge read off stage and Spear can't.

@@ThePikeOfDestiny its far easier to jump out of scythe than any other weapon. Scythe can do what cannon does but requires either a dodge read AND a jump read, or multiple dodge reads. thats why cannon is so good right now, one dodge read is a guarantee of getting your opponent off the screen

I Mained cannon the moment I saw the Beauty that is onyx but I gotta admit it’s a little too strong. I just don’t want them to send cannon back down into the deepest depths of C teir as a weapon because side light is so pivotal on the kit. I’d recommend merging sair to have more startup frames to break its main combos but leave the grounded kit and dair intact but honestly I don’t know how to not break cannon while still restoring balance. Pls blue mammoth games don’t make cannon as bad as it was upon new cannon’s release :,(

@@rigby1025 I can't agree, with only one/two true combo, dodge reads that won't lead to more than one hit and the fact that they can't protect you from stacked attacks, blasters are awful. With the recent said nerf, you really can't pull off anything. Cody and Boomie are insane players, and their perfect spacing can allow them to use the blaster's zoning power very effectively. But in the end blasters in general aren't good

Idk what level youre playig at, but ive been a diamond blasters main for like 4 years and i can tell you that blasters isnt nearly as bad as you think. You must not be using good dodge punishes, since you can basically punish any dodge with sair slight nair, which is like 30-45 damage

As being a cannon main ever since it came out. I'll have to politely disagree that dex doesnt matter for cannon. Yes, pre onyx cannon didnt need it too much because if how much faster it was before. However, cannon now is much much slower compared to when it was before. 6 or more dexterity makes cannon feel faster and a little bit closer to when it was pre onyx. Cannon does have its 0 to death's, but it is very hard to get in with cannon if you're playing with someone at your skill level. I do agree that reads are easier with cannon. I also agree that the side light buffs were very good. Killing with cannon isnt that hard per se, but I can see why most people would say that it's difficult.

Im pissed about this buff because from having to actually use a brain and try to Dodge read alot with Cannon, now all you need to win is 3 string and 2 moves: slight sair, slight dair, dlight dair, dair aerial and nair. Even on the eu tournament all i saw was slight into either of the 3 options i mentioned, or slight into dash/Dodge into slight and then the strings. Even at one point ninja hit slight dair 3 Times in a row Just cuz thats now 2 frames if im not mistaken. I've mained this weapon since when xull got released and i hate what they Did to it, both with the recent patch and the rework that only made aerial dair better and everything worse.

This Cannon meta make me tired I played Cannon almost since it came out and I stuck with this weapon all time but now everyone is playing Cannon and it feels not the same to play Cannon anymore. Cannon was a very good wepaon before the rework in my opinion then they reworked it and buffed it too strong now Cannon is meta and I don't want to play it anymore... Pros always want a weapon that takes no skill (axe, lance, sword, hammer, bow, isn't difficult either) to save them when they can't win. Even in the above video while he was lying about Isaiah being a good character and trying not to say he need buffs (which he does and so does Lin fei) when the person he was playing against wasn't a paper 2 skill level he stayed off of the supposed easy weapon and played blasters. And yes blasters do have a high skill cieling, if cannon was so easy he should have easily won the match with that weapon alone.
