The Cannonball Run (1981) - Trailer

The Cannonball Run is a 1981 action comedy film. Filmed in Panavision, it was directed by Hal Needham, produced by Hong Kong's Golden Harvest films, and distributed by 20th Century Fox. It features an all-star supporting cast, including Burt Reynolds, Roger Moore, Dom DeLuise, Farrah Fawcett, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and Jackie Chan. The film is based on the 1979 running of an actual cross-country outlaw road race in the United States, beginning in Connecticut and ending in California.
It was one of 1981's most successful films at the box office. It was followed by Cannonball Run II (1984), and Speed Zone (1989). This and the 1984 sequel were the final film appearances of actor Dean Martin. It also featured Jackie Chan in his second Hollywood role.

Took me what...3 decades to click in what this movie was about. I remember seeing this movie a few times when I was super young back in the 90's. I never saw it from start to finish. Always randomly found it part way in on cable tv and I would watch like a quarter of it then i'd have to do something else. Recently discovered the concept of CannonBall Run and then is clicked...."Oh that might be that movie I saw as a kid." Always wanted to finish it lol. Now I have new enthusiasm to do so :)

As a child growing up i watched this and Cannon ball run 2, but their actually 4 of these movies 1 each before & after these 2, just watched them yesterday for the 1st time, and their just as fun, tho not as star studded, Tho the last one does have John Candy & an adorable leading lady,, driving a BMW in which he parodies the movie where he was a Cop Chasing Chevy Chase in a BMWr classic movies, thats the reason why i love open world racing games Test Drive, and The Crew among others. As an adult its fun tom rewatch movies u loved as a child & see if they still hold up & you'll also learn a whole lot
