Excellent review. Thanks for all the information. I just used this lens while on a week-long trip to southern and central Utah in some very remote places. The results were astounding, even for a rank beginner like myself who has only been using an EOS RP for about 8 months. For wide open landscape shots it is remarkably good. The clarity is phenomenal. shooting at it's widest (15mm) it captures terrific, almost panoramic, views of the mountains and geology around those parts. I rented the lens for this trip. Now, of course, I'll have to fork out the cash to buy one! 😎 Your reviews and advice will help me get better at this, so subscribing was an easy choice. I always shoot both Raw and JPG and tell myself that one day I'll sit down and learn how to use Lightroom and actually see what I can do with post-processing. For the moment I'm just too much into the instant gratification and, deep in the dark recesses of my mind, the post-processing thing feels a little like "cheating". But seeing what you (and other professionals here on KZbin) can do, I may have to just get over those feelings and actually give it a go! 😂 Thanks again!

This is the second RF lens I’ve bought after the 50mm 1.8. I’ve always wanted a wide angle lens for a long time so I’m excited to see what I can do with it. And one of the main reasons I got it was similar to yours, needed the extra room so I wasn’t pushed up against a wall taking group photos! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the lens!

I have the Canon EF 16-35 f/4L attached to my Fuji X-H2. I didn't even realize there an f/2.8 RF version.

As you see, I highly recommend it. But, it is an expensive lens. Have you considered renting it to see if it is the lens for you?

Those pictures are all amazing but how much is the lense and how much is your skill in the post production? I just don’t see myself being able to reproduce images like that even if I have that gear.

Right now the lens is $2,099. My skill in post is pretty high. That is what time is practice is for. You may not be able to produce those images today, but you will in the future. Just keep working at it, and you will keep producing better images. It is a process. Thanks for the comment.

The RF 35mm will be a great start. It is a solid lens, and you will learn a lot about how you shoot using it. It may be just right, or you may find that you want something wider or tighter or a zoom. Also, it is not super expensive. I highly recommend it.
