My theory on Aaron's motive. Before his hand was injured this was all because of custody battle.. If the judge was the one to award custody of the child to the mother, which put a strain on his and the sons relationship to the point of abuse. (The boy is afraid to eat candy) his entire motive could be all personal family matters. The judge took his kid away, so Aaron did the same. his anger towards the judge, mother and new husband.. It could also be reveled the father of the child could be the new husband and that truth is what set Aaron off after years of affairs and betrayal. Where I think the cartel will enter into all this is... Now that Aaron's hand is injured, he has to cover his tracks. He cannot kill the boy now (his hesitation on the cut wont allow him to kill his child but he will have to dump him somewhere. He finds out where the cartel's location dumps him and calls in an anonymous tip.. Off to the crime scene they go where Aaron reunites with his son.. Will the son will notice the cut? I think Dexter and Tanya will actually be investigating this on their own time separately, coming together as they get closer to busting Aaron. Tanya gets killed in the process, Harry shows up kills Aaron. Harry is there because he ends up listening to Dexter and his theory on Aaron and the killings.. Harry is a good detective and will start to piece stuff together, after Dexter tells him something is off about Aaron. After all is said and done Dexter and Harry keeps all this to themselves.. This is how they will frame the cartel or someone close to them (enter Gio ) for the kidnapping. Framing them for the killings of not only the kids but Tanya and Aaron... The other killer is Brian and he will continue to kill the gay men off screen. The cop that Dexter has befriended will be his next victim closing out season 1. We will not see Brian's face, but will have a clue it's him... Like leaving a candy wrapper at the bar they as they meet up (same mistake he made in season 1) ... This will let the audience know it was him all along... This also will lead into season 2 with Doakes joining the force as I believe the cop is related to Doakes. And because Miami PD is so bad at closing cases, this is what prompts him to joining the force in the first place. This could also be the beginning to the conflict between Doakes and Dexter. Because it was Brian that killed his family member and Dexter and Brian are so "close in likeness" this is where Doakes "vibe" of Dexter came from... Both of them not knowing Brian was behind all of it from the beginning. This is my theory to end Season 1.

You saw Brian in episode 2 at the restaurant when Dexter was saving seats for Angel and the crew. And I believe Brian is the other killer in this season. He’s just figuring things out the same way Dexter is. I think we’re looking at a dual origins story.

I agree. Spencer is out for revenge. The judge with the dead kid screwed Spencer in the divorce and he destroyed the judge's family out of revenge. I also think Spencer's son isn't actually his son. He's the son of the guy his wife's been banging for the last 14 years. Hence, his willingness to kill the kid. Tanya Martin is connected to Brian Moser somehow. They met in Tampa, where she is from, and Brian was hospitalized in a mental institution. My guess is that she is his foster mother, and she's Brian's Harry. Other random thoughts: The actress that plays Doris Morgan looks a little like Jennifer Carpenter. I'm a little surprised that Harry didn't call LaGuerta out on outright stealing Dexter's theory on the NHI serial killer. She basically stole the whole thing almost word for word after dismissing it in the previous episode. But then Harry probably doesn't want to call attention to Dexter having a keen insight on serial killers.

I still say Deb's character is inconsistent with the original series. In the original series, Harry was a hero to Deb and could do no wrong. This was made very plain. That's why when Deb start finding stuff out, she started to freak out. But in this series, she hates her dad and he can do no RIGHT. Utterly inconsistent.

Deb is in her rebellious stage, and acting out... We are only seeing a "snap shot" of their life. Just like anyone, you go through up's and down's. This part of her life she was reckless and had that teenage chip on her shoulder. That doesn't mean that later she comes to appreciate Harry and hold him up on a pedestal.. We haven't seen that part yet.. We don't know what triggers that response from her to completely do a 180 on how she views her dad.. Right now all she feels is abandoned. It's close to her mothers death and a lot of feelings come up during those times.. Harry and Dexter are becoming closer and her isolation in her own house is depressing her, so in her mind "no one cares" and this is what we are seeing..

i acctualy think clark sanders is the second killer(the guy who watched his brother get killed at 14) bcs they showed that he is at gay bar or club and all of the victims are gay,maybe bcs he saw his brother dying when he was young and he wants to kill

The gay cop is the murderer.. Dexter doesn’t know how to read a room so he doesn’t know he is gay. It wasn’t clearly mentioned by the cop

I think it's Brian. Which is why Dexter can fit into the killers shoes so well.. It's Brian's shoes he's fitting into as they both begin their killing rituals and what they "like"

@ that theory makes sense for real, but if it’s Brian then that would mean that by the end of original sin, these killings would be cold cases because Brian isn’t caught until way later. I don’t think the show runners would wanna end the series with a cold case.

@@michgarcia-w4z Of course they would if we the audience knows who the killer really is by the end of season 1. From sources they have greenlit another season. So there will be a season 2. If this is the case then Brian's cold cases will just be logged as such.. We didn't know Brian even existed in the OG series until the end of season 1. So the showrunners hiding Brian's identity, only leaving clues for the audience is in it's own way "reveling the killer" even if the characters don't know who it is..
