Research was done years ago with people making two requests to cut in line. The first group simply asked to cut without any qualification. The second merely added "because..." whatever. Like "Because I don't like to wait" (as if anyone ever does). The "because" group got permission to cut far more than the "non-because" group. I think it works largely because when someone adds "because" to a statement, the mind automatically presumes that there's a legitimate reason. Obviously, this wasn't 100% effective. Few things ever are.

Figured it out (spoiler alert): first two chocolates have nuts in them (they are separated from the rest as they are the only ones ALREADY in the spoon within the container). The rest do not have them. After spinning them he turns the bowl backwards while dumping the nuts. This allows him to block his hand while he dumps the nuts into the bowl and onto the table, from his hand(thus the extreme zoom in). Mystery solved! you learn what to watch for from watching "magic's biggest secrets revealed"

The de-nutter trick is basically having peanut candies in the jar, but one distinct nut for Michael to show the audience still has the nut inside. He then keeps that nut out of the mix and places the tampered chocolates with the nuts removed into the prop device - which can literally just be a wave of your hand or something extra. He then unveils the hidden peanuts beneath the prop machine. They removed the peanuts from a majority to make it more convincing to the audience for them to get hands-on, else he could've just had a few peanuts "de-peanuted".
