So happy you enjoyed this performance! Thanks for reacting to it. Prince was into ladies - very much so. People often said that he was the only man in 4 inch heels and lace that could go anywhere and steal your woman 😂 It’s true. The women he was with are stunning! Anyway, still loving your journey into Prince. He was one of a kind. 💜💜💜 Thanks again!

Nope not gay. He always had beautiful girlfriends. I think what made him so attractive to us women was that he had the balls to act/dress however he wanted. "Real men" don't care what people say about them. He was very secure in the way he dressed...heels and all!

The world loved, MJ , long before Prince came on the scene, but Prince was the true Multitalented SuperStar. MJ never played instruments while Prince was a one-man band, writer, producer, mixer, dancer, stylist and performer. He held the audience in his hands, spellbound.

I'm pretty sure in the future we're gonna find out Prince was actually from another galaxy. The man was ridiculous. He played everything. He could have come out on stage and played a banjo and that shit would have still been fire. One of my cousins in Minneapolis laid tile in his house band in 1988 and said he was as cool as a fan.

Dreeezy!!!! Prince is my favorite artist of allll time so I'm super stoked for you to be reacting to him because he is genuinely one of a kind. Prince was not gay, but he was androgynous and was married twice in his life to women. He intentionally did things seen as out of the norm and pushed boundaries. He did not care at all about what anyone thought about him, and in his song Controversy he even touches on his sexuality, singing, "Am I black or white, am I straight or gay" (that song is a banger, btw). Great reaction; I've never seen this video of Prince, so this was a true treat; I can't wait to see what else you watch of his. He is a transformative artist whose creativity knew no bounds, he has a lot of party tracks but love songs too. I would recommend the songs Controversy and Uptown :)

Great performance to show off his dancing. Well, he danced all through all of his performances, but this upbeat song is perfect. He's GOAT level on everything he did...sing, write, musical instruments, dance, entertain, produce, conducting the band the whole time etc. Prince takes a lot of inspiration from James Brown, Little Richard (vocals & style), Jimi Hendrix in his performance style...'Good God!' is straight from James Brown, as is some of the footwork. Prince took all of that and made something special.

I was privileged to see Prince in concert three times, all of them in Philadelphia.....on this tour in November of 1984; on the "Lovesexy" tour in October of 1988; and finally in August of 2004 on the "Musicology" tour. Prince was an emblematic ambassador of my generation, a once-in-a-lifetime talent. Sixty-plus years since his birth and NO ONE has yet to come along to take up his mantel of musical genius. PRINCE FOREVER 💜

He wasn't gay. As for appearance, that kind of androgynous look was very, very popular in the 80s, even going back to 70s glam rock like David Bowie. The drummer, Sheila E, who had a solo here, was his girlfriend at the time (or earlier? I forget the timeline). His other serious girlfriend was the female guitarist's (Wendy) sister. Prince just liked being sexy and he used both his feminine and masculine sides to express everything, including performing. It was just his genuine self, not acting or whatever, but the clothing & hair styles were common in the 80s.

Prince dated and married some of the most beautiful women of his time....and there were many. Some names off the top of my head are Vanity, Carmen Electra, Shiela E, Appolonia Kotera, Kim Basinger, Nona Gaye, Matye Garcia, Cat Glover, and Manuela Testolini!!!!! (to name a few lol) No....Prince was not gay. Women were attracted to him not just because he was stunningly good looking, but because he was not afraid to break the rules. Prince had a mystique about him, with his dark eyes, and the way he dressed was very sexy to most women at that time. He didn't do the "macho" thing, and he dressed how he wanted. By doing that, it put him on a level WITH women (not above them), and he could have any woman he wanted. He was a very sensual being, and the way he dressed just reflected that. If he walked into a room I was in, I'd swoon for SURE !!

I don’t know if anybody mentioned it yet but Prince wasn’t gay but his symbol actually means male and female. He took feminine and masculine elements and mixed it together which made him even more of a mystery because that’s hard for anybody to do but definitely for a straight man to do. He’s also from a different timeframe, and back then that androgynous vibe was really popular but i also feel like it made the artist more diverse. He had 2 wives in his lifetime and alot of girlfriends though. He also had a really deep speaking voice and when you watch his interviews you get to know his vibe a bit more he was really deep. 💖

Prince was straight. IDK, I can see what you mean about his mannerism that would lead you ask that but for me he is very masculine in his own way. I can't explain it, I just have never questioned his sexuality. I always thought he was someone who was very free spirited. His ex girlfriend Vanity thought Prince was gay at first, based on his attire, but once she spoke to him, she said she knew "he so wasn't gay" is how she put it.

What you said shortly before the 6:30 mark really made me have an a-ha moment. I don't know if you've ever listened to the remasters of Prince, but they by and large sound like crap and I think it's because of the auto-tuning likely involved. Prince doesn't require auto-tune because his voice is all over the place and that's part of the beauty of it. He can go deep and he can go high and he can have his trademark screeches and screams and auto-tune would ruin those.
@robinmullins24546 ай бұрын
Prince was not gay at all!!! That why i liked him because he was himself!!! If you only knew how many GORGEOUS woman this man had!! It was said that Prince could wear high heel shoes, lace shirt and walk in and STEAL your woman!!! Lol!! Vanity was at a party with Rick James and left with Prince. He also dated his drummer Shelia E who was playing on this video!!!

EVERYONE slept on Prince. It didn't help he banned all his music from the internet when he was alive. Bad business move. Prince is one of the greatest of all time!
@tommtommkin3 ай бұрын
Honey my man was straight as an arrow listen to his songs: Dont Play Me and Controversy the extended version. He was a conservative Christian in one of the interviews that he gave, which has been erased from the internet mainly because of the woke culture we now sadly live in so there trying to remake Prince, he said he didn't believe in same sex marriage which got a lot of people mad at him at the time I'm betting just saying this is pissing people off now too. :P Listen to his song Come On... He married 2 women, then divorced them as well. If you ever listen to some of his band mates, at least 2 of them both said he was conservative, and you can be conservative without being a Repub by the way just ask me I'm one of them, but at one time the only vote Prince ever cast was for a Repub in his state who lost. Listen to his songs The Cross and Colonized Mind and Anna Stesia.... He sang a lot about God. In so far as his way of dressing... What your seeing was only one time period when he dressed that way he changed his look on a regular basis, very french and English style at the turn of the century where men dressed like that all the time. Prince was always a ladies man nothing gay or bi about him or he would have admitted that himself and he wouldn't have had a problem with admitting that either 2 of the women in his band were gay so he didn't have an issue with them or he wouldn't have had them in his band in the first place. Peace.

I think he was totally straight, but in his song "Controversy" he does sing "Am I straight, or gay?"

No, Prince wasn't gay. He even addressed it in his 1981 album's song "Controversy." He was known to date 9s and 10s and married two hot women.

Prince was NOT gay. He got in touch with his feminine side early on. He knew dudes would buy the electric guitar records but the girls would buy the ballads and the love songs. He was a "don't define my sexuality" dude before it was popular. Even though he wore heels and womens' clothing, he was very much into women, including dating Vanity, Appolonia, Engaged to Sheila E, Engaged to Lisa Melvoin and married to Marte. Marte and Prince lost their one and only baby. It's so fucking sad.

No he wasn't bi or gay. But actually he didn't care what people thought he was. And believe me in the 80s people were not as accepting of anything different at all 😮
