How profound for such a short film. Such a poignant view of how fragile life is, and the timing of how circumstances work out. It felt like a cliffhanger; like making the audience wonder what’s going on in Marisa’s mind and whether Aunt Bev has an aire of fear, irony, guilt, or all of those at the end. I felt that Marisa was a good soul though, given her integrity and respect for Grandfather despite the belief that he was thought to be non-communicative at the time. So many feels about a situation that can happen when we least expect it to.

Thank you for your kind words. We're quite proud of it. It was written by a friend of mine while in treatment for cancer and he later passed away. We made it in his honor and felt it would be relatable for anyone who has ever been a caregiver

@@jordanleighwheatley Yes!! There's a story behind Maxine, below. . . . . March of 2023, I adopted Maxi, a completely untrained 14-month-old Belgian Malinois from a local shelter, she had a three-bite history and a dog fight. This was due to two separate families adopting her, one forced an interaction and resulted in three bites that did not break the skin, she was returned to the shelter on day two. The next family left a meat bone out that belonged to the resident dog, a fight ensued, and she was returned on day three, Now she was considered "special needs" due to her history, I was her last chance. This time I was interviewed by the shelter, we discussed my dog experience, all drivey dog breeds but no Malinois experience, and my training philosophy as a balanced trainer. I also added that while experience with and knowledge of the Malinois breed is important, what is equally important are one's reasonable expectations and first-hand experience with working/sporting line dogs or mixed breeds consisting of working/sporting lines that may also be high drive in both mental, physical needs, may exhibit prey/food drive, etc., and have identical traits associated with the Belgian Malinois, so please don't count us out. I was offered to foster but I declined and went all in and adopted her. So far, Maxine has proven to be incredibly intelligent, loves to train, work and learn, we end exercises on a positive, she naps with me and loves my other dog. She has some fear aggression but that is slowly passing as she builds trust in me, interacts with people using a strict protocol and learns more exercises that build confidence. She's developed a solid recall, we're mastering basic obedience, and starting a few basic moves for French Ring, she's also shown interest in bite work. I'm retired so I can make working my dogs a lifestyle, in addition to my Malinois, I also have a high drive German Shorthaired Pointer. For context I'm 61 and disabled (chronic pain) from a work-related injury in 1995. Since the 90's I have wanted a Malinois, and in March of this year, all the "stars" aligned and I have Maxine!! I also have a German Shorthaired Pointer named Fritz.

@@jordanleighwheatley I saw your beautiful Black GSD. What work do you do with her? If you ever need training pointers, let me know. Max is starting her training for French Ring Brevet in 2024. French Ring is a high energy dog sport. Brevet is the very first level.

@@cherylmillard2067 well, sadly, the one you saw on my KZbin page passed suddenly last April from a hemangiosarcoma a week before her 9th bday. She had been trained and had done some film work. My current GSD is a long haired blanket back with a sable mask (all black dad, sable mom so she came out pretty special looking) and she just turned a year old and I'm training her as my service dog. Our other dogs are a rottie, basset hound, and dachshund. But yeah, I would love to connect if you have training pointers!
