I kinda thought this game was gonna go in a different direction. The setting of an SNF with CNA/HHA, itself, has enough potential for horror games without a supernatural angle. I've done hospice work as a TMA/CNA off and on since 2008. The job can really mess with your mental health. Despite being a medical student and having previously been a volunteer EMT, I've seen some horrible accidents and traumatic injuries. But it's never really gotten to me. Now, after taking a part-time NOC shift, there are times I just want to sit in my car and cry. I have a woman under my care that is around my age. (Early 30's) She sustained major head trauma during a car accident and now suffers with Locked In Syndrome, which is my biggest fear. I've been caring for her for 5 months now, and I haven't seen or heard anything from her family. There are times where I wish I could just sit there and read out loud or anything to give her human contact for more than the 3 minutes it takes to reposition her, or 10 minutes when I have to pass her meds through her GI tube. I can't imagine what she feels about being in bed all day, every day, without even a TV or Radio to help pass the time. Oops, this got a bit off topic. Sorry about that.

honestly, it may sound insensitive, if I had Locked In Syndrome I would just ask to be put down i why continue living when I can’t so anything? can’t eat a warm meal with my family, can’t watch the TV or KZbin, can’t even was my ass without help, you would just continue living as a shell of your former self

@@higaiwokeru Nah, it doesn't sound insensitive. At least not to me. Partially why I support "Right to Die/Death With Dignity" laws. Sometimes I feel like it's the next of kin who are the insensitive ones. The body has several ways of speeding up the process of dying. For example, loss of appetite and development of fluid in the lungs and around the heart. But once they appear the family will order interventions that directly oppose the process. The most notable being TPN, supplemental oxygen, etc. And at the same time, they'll deny comfort treatments. One of my residents recently had an aneurysm burst and her family refused to let me give her any morphine while they were visiting... for 8 hours! She looked so miserable that I went "above them" and asked the MD to switch the orders to every 2 hours instead of PRN. I mean, I get not wanting to over medicate a younger patient. But for heaven's sake, don't force a 98 yro, actively dying individual to suffer just make living individuals feel better.

@@qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm3093 Because they wanted her awake. They were more concerned with her being able to respond to their presence than her comfort. They couldn't comprehend the agony that is a "thunderclap headche." There may be an argument for holding off on too much medication when family first arrived. But because the standard comfort care orders are "as needed" by default (not scheduled) they took that to mean that she wasn't experiencing significant pain and discomfort.

I’m a cook in a nursing home and I’ve been doing it for about 2 years now and this made me want to see someone make a horror game out of that. I think it’s possible. Like the residents and management are demons (or just evil) and the only humans there are the workers and sometimes the other workers either turn on you or lie about you to save themselves. So you also have to worry about that while also making sure that your job is done properly and to management’s satisfaction, and you also have to keep the residents happy which means that sometimes you have to break management’s rules. What’s sad is that it’s not that far from reality.
