A #1 hit for The Carpenters in January 1975. It was their last #1 hit on the Top 40 charts. It also hit #1 on the Adult Contemporary charts and the Cash Box charts. It also hit #1 in Canada and their AC charts, Japan, and South Africa. It hit #2 in Ireland & the United Kingdom, #4 in New Zealand, #5 in Switzerland, #10 in West Germany, and #29 in The Netherlands. Karen, you gave us so much, and there is no doubt that you had so much more to give. It was a sad day when you left us. You will never be forgotten.

when Karen tried 'Ticket to Ride' early on, critics said she always would have trouble with Lennon/McCartney. this proves them wrong. she should have sung more staples from the 50's and 60's. she could re-write the record books. pure class will always rise to the top - no matter what. what a talent.
