Absolutely he’s in the conversation, his body of work in UFC was enough for that, since leaving UFC he’s won a belt at 135, officially making him a 2 belt world champion, he then went on to beat one of the greatest strikers in Rodtang. A generational talent. It was a mixed rules fight, round one was striking. Most people don’t make it out of the first round with Rodtang. Life long, Muay Thai fighters contending for belts get stopped. He is easily top 5. Pound for pound skillset and athleticism, he is the GOAT

When you look at his CONSISTENCY for the past almost 15 years and the absolute insane top tier names he has put down and done it in highlight reel fashion it's just a no brainer. The list of guys he has beaten and number of title defenses is staggering. He is the unfortunate recipient of happening to be a smaller guy, which unfairly carries the stigma of not being as valued as much as the heavier guys. That is why people don't give him his dues as much as they should, and it's sad.

I think another thing that needs to be considered is not just the number of title defenses but how those defenses were won. GSP was amazing, but he had something like 7 title defenses in a row that he won by decision. Johnson is the most technically precise fighter in the sport’s history. A lot of that comes from his size, he has a dexterity advantage due to simply having less body to deal with while setting up crazy moves. In the pure technique NOBODY steps up to Mighty Mouse. Fedor on the other hand is an entirely type of fighter. He is also a very sharp fighter on the technical side, Sambo ain’t no joke, but it’s his raw strength and toughness that makes him untouchable. He hits harder, and swallows up hits easier, and that makes getting over on him basically just luck. He’s built like a keg, is as strong as a keg, but isn’t clunky like the outdated oversized heavies of the freakshow days. I can’t decide between the two. They represent the platonic idea of two different types.

Jon Jones, Conor, Henry…are probably the actually the true proven P4P goats since all there of them have fought and earned belts in different weight class so they literally have proven to some degree that their skills translate into different weight classes

Demetrious Johnson (aka Mighty Mouse) is _the_ best MMA fighter we’ve ever seen. Prove me wrong.

would it be more appropriate to have not one goat, but one goat for each fight style? I find it difficult to limit it to 1
