His girlfriend is like one of those women who fall in love with a serial killer during his trial, she certainly doesn't seem to be using anything resembling common sense where this guy is concerned. @virginiaviola50973 жыл бұрын
PTSD is the result of trauma, and I’m quite certain that this bloke has been traumatised by what he did and what has happened to him as a result. I think it’s an insult to people with PTSD to suggest that only some trauma applies. I can’t think of anything more traumatic than being a decent, law-abiding, caring person, and then murdering somebody and disposing of their body and then getting caught...that has to be one of the most wtf things to happen to a person. He would not have woken up that morning thinking that within 24 hours he was going to murder someone, a cop, no less, and his life would be over. I would call that a pretty traumatic ordeal. I have PTSD..it is something that happens to you, and it just happens, it’s something that you have no control over, and, one way or another, it makes you it’s prisoner, and it is caused by trauma, any trauma.

Many veterans are traumatised because they too have killed people, and the uniform does not make that truth less traumatic. I am so very sorry for your loss, there are many too many who are lost this way. Help is such an elusive, and difficult thing to obtain..and those who suffer will always be the walking wounded. Bizarre. In the interview he seemed genuinely upset, remorseful and confused, and he had no prior issues or a motivation to murder. Yet his behavior after the fact, hiding the body and trying to get away with it is inexcusable. I really can't understand why anyone would do that so randomly and unprovoked, drunk or otherwise. I have a feeling he was so blackout drunk he lost control of his anger at his "ex," and woke up with severe mental trauma for having done something so horrible, so the PTSD is probably real.

As someone with actual PTSD as a permanent disability, it really sickens me when PTSD is thrown around like this. While he probably did experience those things, those were all of his creation. For people who had severe childhood sexual abuse, living in a war zone trauma, etc., we didn't get to 'choose' our PTSD by, you know, murdering another human being. >____>

Family members will always be in denial especially since from their prospective while growing up with them/raised them they were nothing but sweet and caring to their family. Like I had a relative who was a wife beater but he was always real nice to the me and the rest of our family. Families just can’t comprehend that there is a lot that they most likely don’t know about their kids/other family members.
@fisharepeopletoo96534 жыл бұрын
I guess I'll be the first to point out that "on trial for murder" does not mean "guilty of murder," and the person may indeed be a good person and not a murderer at all. Not that I think that applies in this case, just generalizing.

"He pleaded not guilty, even after he confessed!" I hear this a lot in the news and on many other platforms such as here on youtube. I figure that most law abiding citizens have no idea how the legal system actually works. It all starts at the arrest, where the police or whomever, assume the culpability of a person due to the accumulation of evidence, therefore making them a defendant. In order to make it from one court hearing to the next, you must plead not guilty, regardless of your guilt or innocence. If you plead guilty, anytime after you are arrested and charged with a crime(s), you will be immediately sentenced. Therefore, most defendants continue through the process, pleading not guilty until it is no longer possible to do so. At your final case review, if you plead guilty, you will most likely be offered a plea deal and you will probably get a better deal then if he had pleaded guilty from the very beginning or taken it to trial by pleading not guilty once again. Sorry so long winded, but I was hoping I could sensibly explain the process without getting too deep into the process...Thanks for your time!

well said.. I'm so surprised they let this dude have his girlfriend sit with him during the interrogation (assuming that was her in the room).. Canada actually has way harsher interrogation laws (harsher in that they allow stuff the USA doesn't).. For example, you can request a lawyer all you want but t he detectives are allowed to keep questioning you as long as they need (idk the allowed amount)..They let people speak to a lawyer before the questioning but thats it.. your on your own for the rest of the process.. so it surprised the hell out of me that they allowed this guy to have someone comfort him and reassure him during the interrogation
