If the surge was so extreme that it overloaded the surge protectors, everything else in his house would have been fried, the house probably would have burned down in an electrical fire if that happened, which is so extremely rare that I think you can count on one hand the amount of times it has happened (from a storm, not dumbassery or arson) It’s all bullshit. I bet the truth is that his “gaming PC” got so many viruses and overloaded his HDD with so much shit that it stopped working and was blue screening, and he didn’t know what to do and he couldn’t afford a new one so he just switched to console.
