The ending doesn't ring true to the story, the reason why this short story is so terrifying is because Fortunato remains silent (implying that he wanted to have the last laugh), and Montresor becomes angry knowing that Fortunato's physical body may be gone, but the psychological satisfaction was stolen from him.

and wasn't fortunato supposed to be wearing a hat with bells. the ringing of bells was supposed to be his last form of communication

8:30 This is not right. Fortunato does not beg for his life, it is a key point in the story. You shouldn't have made it this way

The last words in Poe's classic was "Im pache requiescat!", Latin for Rest in Peace. This IS the ultimate tale of revenge. To read it is chilling.

I just finished watching this true masterpiece of tale of pure doom and here's somet hing disturbing the only one thing u can believe from Montressor is that fortunado and he had one thing in common and thats that they both are good at detecting fine wines. Now if Montressor kills fortunado for an insult y not tell him when he's putting up the wall. I steads silent and his actions mock and parallel the incredible relationship of predator & prey. I believe that fortunado was soley killed because he simply could be killed & it was a thrill for Montressor. Bone chilling

I've written an unusual mystery story, entitled HAZARD ON THE LOOSE - which can be found in a volume of my stories entitled SEVEN TALL TALES; available at Amazon as a book or kindle - which you may be interested in; and which bears some similarities to The Cask of Amontillado; in that the denouement takes place in the wine cellar of an old house, where two keen wine buffs are seemingly intent on sampling some fine old vintages. The tale concerns a businessman, by the name of Jack Hazard, who breaks out of jail, with outside help, after serving five years of a fifteen year sentence. He had already promised to murder the four executives that he claimed had deliberately framed him up and saw him sentenced on entirely trumped up charges. One by one they are tracked down and murdered; until only two of the four remain. One of the remaining two hires the services of two private detectives, to add to the police protection he has already. Though it is assumed by most people that Hazard is the murderer the private detectives voice their doubts about this and reason that Hazard would be far too focused on keeping a low profile and avoiding recapture - as a large police force is dedicated to that purpose - to pursue some bizarre revenge vendetta. Will events prove them right? But if it isn't Hazard, then who is the actual killer? Could you guess? Happy listening, and reading.

So, I'm doing online school, and I have this assignment I need to do. I was given four video options to watch so I could do the assignment(I couldn't see previews of any of the videos, since they were just links with a label, like, Instructional video, cartoon style (9:00):, I chose this one because it was labeled "Gamer's Style".) I honestly didn't expect to be sent here when I clicked the link, but I'm not complaining.

good animation but one thing you forgot is when Montresor throws the torch in with Fortunado. it’s almost as if he didn’t want him to have a slow and painful death (starving) so he put the torch in their so he would die a lot quicker (fire eats up oxygen).

i want you to know that i had to watch this every year for 3 years in highschool and write multiple papers on it. as the creator of this video that has tormented me for YEARS, i want you to understand my agony. every year for years ive had to write about the cask of amontillado for school (even now in university) and whenever the name is so much as brought up i have flashbacks to this video. if any educators see this comment remove this from your curriculum and maybe consider removing your lesson about the cask of amontillado as a whole. please god im so tired i have two years left for my bachelors and i never want to hear about the god damn cask of amontillado again.
