About 10 years ago I saw this little flick called "In bruges" and was absolutely blown away by it. Told all my friends about it, was my favorte at that time but no one else seemed to know about it. Then came 7 Psychopaths which was way more known than in Bruges and also a fantastic film. Now I had to wait 5 years for this guys next film and everyone praises it, getting oscar buzz etc.. etc..I think I have never been more excited for a movie in my life.

Amazing way to tell about his character by Clarke Peters. "The call me Mr. Tibbs" is a quote from "in the heat of the night" in which the local police in a southern town refuse to acknowledge a homicide detective that he is in fact a cop, just because he is black.

The cast is even amazing to listen to, talking about their perception & perspective, wow. Such a brilliant movie, and obviously behind it are really interesting people... I'm really falling for Caleb Landry Jones, he's fascinating to look for starters, because he's aesthetically wonderful to look at, but any mimic he has (blinking eyes, ha!) is golden. And his voice, and the way he speaks. And what he says, in substance, haha. Everything is so intense about him. Golden. 23:33 Hilarious :-]

give me a break Warning this movie is diabolically shit dont watch this fucking movie just suicides and misery from beginning to end no storyline at all and one of those bull shit ending where nothing happens nothing fucking gets solved worst fucking movie ever dont see its advertised as a comedy action but its a fucking misery shit box from beging to end dont watch this shit. also this movie is popular as fuck on rotten tomatoes for some fucking reason because everyone loves misery because they must live in a miserable life like a bunch of wankers. i would rather eat 20kg of albanina sugar-free gummi bears and have endless chronic shits for the rest of my life than watch this shit diabolically bad ending movie. just a heads up dont watch this shit nothing gets solved complete crap and misery from begging to end

I just finished watching the Movie on DVD early this Morning. I stayed up late watching it. I thought the Movie was interesting and intriguing at first. , but then it went way over the Top. When the lead Female Character throws Molotovs Cocktails at the Police Station and Burns it down- severely burning the Dixon Character- thought that was Ridiculous for several reasons. Just her burning it down was ridiculous. That she never got caught and they never did a thorough investigation was unbelievable and Ridiculous. That the Sam Rockwell Character would somehow have a complete Metamorphosis after being almost burned to death from being a Bully and Racist to a Good Guy Guy who even helps out the Woman who burned him was unbeievable. Besides for not being arrested for burning down the Police Precinct and injuring Dixon as well as assaulting that dentist- she also assaulted 2 children by kicking them in their groins. was also unbelievable. I think the Writer Director had a Hidden Message about Women and Mothers since Dixon's Mother is very similiar to the Frances Character. I think if the Movie didn't go so way over the top and just became a Mystery Movie about who killed the Daughter or at the Raminificaitons of her death and her MOther's actions in being a bad Mother, it would have been a much better movie.

It's only in about four theaters as of November 10, all in New York City or Los angeles. It won't be in wide release until December 1.

The only thing that annoyed me about the film is why is Woody Hareson's wife have an Australian accent but dresses as if she was from the town? Horrible casting!

I think Abbie Cornish is a brilliant actress, but you're right in that she has a lot of difficulty trying to hide her Australian accent

I agree...I like Abbie as an actress but she didn't fit in this movie. But she has worked with the director before so I guess he probably really liked her and wanted to work with her again. But he should have casted someone else :( Sorry but that's my personal opinion. Overall brilliant cast and brilliant movie.

The accent is annoying, but not just because it's Australian - that, by itself, would not be an issue... she could have moved there, Willoughby could have met her elsewhere etc. The issue is that it's not always an Australian accent. It seems to wander. At one point I thought she was trying for an English accent. That was distracting.
