(I'm a Spanish native speaker btw). Edit: the funny thing tho is that it's actually a bit hard to understand some accents from Spain when you're not from the country, I guess they tend to speak a bit faster.

I don’t think so. “Used to be the official languange” is not appropriate, maybe the right way to say it is spanish influenced filipino languange in so many ways because why not?Spain colonized ph for 300 years😂Before the colonization of the spaniards , philippines has already its own language. They just have no choice but to use spanish. In the book named el filibusterismo by jose rizal , spaniards don’t want to teach their language to filipinos because they’re afraid on how this will awaken their knowledge and patriotism. They want filipinos to stay idiot , so that they can continue their abusive doings. Just saying hahaha
