Stephen M. Stouter ok while this case is obviously a prime example of alimony abuse, the fact remains that women still far and away come out of divorces in more dire straits than the man. They most often are awarded custody and it's almost impossible in this economy to be able to be able to provide a stable household in a single parent salary, especially if they were homemakers with little job experience to begin with. Raising a kid and keeping a household in shape is a full time job that doesn't leave much room for extra employment. So no, it's not really sexist as much as the environment that leads to the necessity of alimony is sexist, mostly against women.

When I was a kid I heard some of my classmates talking about how a fly flew into a girls head during brain surgery and the doctor didn't notice so when they stitched her back up the fly was still inside it slowly ate her brain and she died. The scarabs in that movie were terrifying. When I was a kid, I watched it with my cousins. They got so scared that they threw up. The only movie scenes that have ever made me nauseous came from Dante's Peak and one of the Saw movies. The Dante's Peak scene was the lady wading through the lake of acid. The scene in the Saw movie was the one where the woman was in the pit of syringes. It was just the shock of it and passed as quickly as it came.

Same with Jaws! Slept in a fetal position for a month because I was too scared to put my feet straight down the covers because, obviously, there was a shark down there just waiting at the end of the mattress. I also had an irrational fear of sharks in swimming pools for a year. Small bodies of water you could see in, clear, shallow, fresh water and full of chemicals like chlorine, with clearly no shark in it...BUT, and stay with me now, what if there were a shark in it anyway? I have a particularly distinct memory of being scared on a diving board over a 12 foot part of a pool because, though you could still see the bottom, the water got darker blue because it was deeper and what if that was *just enough* of a color change to hide a shark down there?

I don’t know... mummies don’t scare me, just like zombies don’t scare me. They tend to be dumb compared to humans. But The Mummy makes the monster smart, which makes him scary. But, the movie plays too much and seems more like a parody than a genuine action movie. I haven’t seen it, but I know the original black and white film was a horror film, and I haven’t seen the 1999 film. If it’s supposed to be satirical, I apologize for criticizing too much.
