Since rescuing folks is important in the Pikmin 4 mission statement, it’s pretty cool how much time is spent giving everyone at least a shred of personality. I definitely like Yonny more than the rest of the rescue corps though-his unhinged mad scientist ideals and how he makes Collin uncomfy makes for some fun reading.

It’s amazing to me as a Pikmin lore enthusiast how much stuff the castaways in 4 tell you about their home worlds. Most were really endearing in my opinion, but my favorites (excluding the rescue corp and Hocotatians) are the Research Task Force guy who tells you about how there’s only one day of clear skies on Ocobo, the teacher who chaperoned the Planetary Science Club trip, and Pitunia (solely for the disturbing lore she drops if you replicate her look in the character creator) Molly is great too, of COURSE there are going to be clout-chasers heading to the planet on purpose (SURVIVING 25 DAYS ON PNF-404 NOT CLICKBAIT *gone wrong*) Also, I only found out for the first time like 3 days ago about her admiring Russ?? I don’t know when this dialogue first appears, it may only be after you cure Oatchi, but Molly has like 4 boxes about how much she thinks he’s cool. They’re perfect for each other lmao Edit: HOW COULD I FORGET ABOUT SANTI??? Funniest guy in the game right there, Bernard overshadowing him since his actual birth is wild

Fun fact: All Castaways (aside from Olimar and Louie) are named after dog breeds/canines, there's a lot so I can't go over all of them but, Collin=Border Collie Chowder=Chow Chow Sheeba=Shiba inu Dalmo=Dalmatian Sy=Siberian husky Frise=Bichon Frise Twyla=Rottweiler, if you want the whole list check the Pikmin wiki

I like how Olimar is one of the most interesting characters in the story, both main plot and side stuff, he is interested in watching night expeditions even though he usually misses them, he relates his love for his dog with shepherd’s, and the fact that right before you save him he laments how he can’t see his family anymore as a leafling, which is sad and nice once you finally save him.

As a scrapyard worker who will happily drink black if that's all that's available, but prefers 2 cream 2 sugar, I take offense to being compared to a crypto-bro. While actually getting a quality roast and indulging in the subtle flavors submerged under the bitter current is a delectable treat, my brother in Christ sometimes you're pulling burnt Nescafe from a 3 days old pot that's been patiently waiting on the warmer, or god forbid settling for instant coffee, and Creamer is there for you. Creamer is ready to turn that bitter hatred inwards, both the coffee's and yours, making the borderline undrinkable almost touch the title of "gourmet," through nothing but dairy and flavorants. TL;DR ain't nothing wrong with making crap coffee bearable. Not all us blue collars going out and getting fresh ground quality arabica blends, lots of us are getting 7/11 "dark roast" from Tuesday.

I thought Yonny was a bit quirky but an interesting member, until I talked to Captain Shepherd one morning. Captain Shepherd will tell you that Yonny never lets people into his lab during his experiments. Also while he is working he laughs maniacally. That plus yonny testing various hazards on glow pikmin and the breeding program, I never looked at Yonny the same way again.
