We used to have a black cat who was the spitting image of Martin, although she was a girl. She's the only cat we ever had that would come for walks with us. Trouble was, she also used to follow our kids to school and walk into the classroom with them. Still miss her.

Lucky Cats !!! Heaven-on-Earth for these ones! World's best guardian ♥("owner") of cats, and this is a perfect place for them to live. They get exercise & fresh air, and freedom, and security backup support just in case, and a chance to explore, and to smell plants like the cedar and the flowers, and a lovely warm cozy house to come back to. They are so healthy and happy ! Couldn't be better. 🏆

A new subscriber. I have had a number of cats who would go on walks with me, at various times of my life. Even had one who would go hunting with my partner. The cat would freeze with her nose pointed in the direction of the noise she heard, and pretty soon a flock of turkeys or a deer would walk into view. She would also sit under the tree deer stand, and alert him to coming animals.

If you start kittens early on a daily walk they’ll stay with you and enjoy..My cats are terrified of the outdoors but it’s a good life for them to enjoy for a little while…then go inside for warmth..That tip on the tail is so adorable…Like radar😅

Well notice how little Martin while in the lead always so graciously stops to either wait or just check to see if you all are keeping up! WHENVER YOU SEE A PERSON OR ANOTHER UNLOOSED ANIMAL like dog or horse etc, on the trail PLEASE KEEP GOING AND DON'T STOP AS STOPPING IS TEACHING THE CATS TO FEAR! THEY WILL BE OKAY AS THEY KNOW HOW TO PROTECT THEMSELVES! A lovely walk!

I had to break my last one of the habit of going with me when I left the house / teach him not to, too many busy roads on my route to work or the shops, watching this makes me a little sad I had to do that.

I found that mine all automatically stopped at roads and waited for me to come back. They loved the opportunity to sit in someone else's garden. And the Siamese thought it was hilarious to tell passers by that they were poor abandoned kitties - I had to explain several times 😊

@@SarahMould early on before I took the time to train him to stop following before the end of the avenue I live on he followed me all the way to the university campus (the real roads start after that on that side, other direction to the bus stop it goes straight to a main road) and he stopped at the site of all those people and hid in the hedge so you may be right.. thing was it was hours later I came back and as I walked home past that point there was this plaintiff little mew behind me and he came out of the hedge and followed me home .. that was a good chalk from home at that point and he'd sat there waiting, which worried me that he didn't know the way home from there and was lost until he saw me again.. that gave me something else to worry about with him following me, I may have been worrying unnecessarily but I still felt I was only looking after him for his previous owner at that point (she couldn't keep him and I'd said I'd look after him until she could have him back) which gave me another reason to be worried about losing him of course, didn't want to have to tell her I'd lost her cat

You take a dog for a walk but you have to empathise with your a cat on a walk . Years ago. I would take Kissy my cat on walks through heavily tufted grass up into the woods, the first time I thought the grass was too rough but to her it was like a Tiger in Elephant grass, she defiantly seemed to be less on high alert in all that cover. The second best thing you can do, if you know what I meen.
