Wonderful episode. It reminded us that we need to bring our pups “shoes” next time we head out. We’ve been in NM and AZ, and the goat heads are pretty bad this year.
@oneadVANtureatatime Жыл бұрын
+@geraldsouthard7092 those goat heads suck big time! Roodle usually has to wear his boots in the desert until he gets used to the cactus again. The first year we went to Arizona I swear he stepped on every cactus 🌵

Catwalk canyon is a neat place. We were there a few years ago also. If you get the chance make the trip to mogollon ghost town. Neat history and people, and the purple onion has great pies, not as good as pietown, but still real good.
@snowbirdlady7221 Жыл бұрын
Very nice area! The coyotes were singing away. Thanks for showing us the Catwalk. The juniper trees in my yard are just thick with berries. I think it's because we had such a good precip year. My BFF and her husband live in NM and I don't think they have ever been there. Love your calendar Carrie! Ordering one now.
@oneadVANtureatatime Жыл бұрын
+@snowbirdlady7221 the coyotes were very vocal here! And very close! It made it a bit eery when I was out at 2am doing night Timelapse’s! I think I mailed your calendar today. I only have a few left to mail on Monday

My wife and I watched a sunset like that all the way from Santa Fe to Albuquerque one evening. It was marvelous! It slowly died down like the last embers of a campfire. What a way to end a day. New Mexico is a favorite, since my son and daughter-in-law live there. I get to be there pretty often and will be there move once I get a van. Thanks for the encouragement!
@oneadVANtureatatime Жыл бұрын
+@BillSprague we’ve only seen one sunset like you are describing! It was in Ajo, Arizona and I swear it lasted for what seemed like an hour! It’s just kept getting better and better!

Thank you for taking us along. I always enjoy your videos, especially when Dave takes out his drone. Someday, I would like to go there. I'm a Mexican/American gal, lol, and eat cactus at least once every 2 weeks. ( I buy them at the store) Question, the first cactus plant that you came across, are they eatable .

Thanks for taking us along, really enjoyed the video, as always. I know you’ve done it before but can you share the link to those cool flickering lanterns inside your van?
@oneadVANtureatatime Жыл бұрын
+@tommaue4942 it looks like they have changed the lanterns since I last ordered. I can no longer find usb & solar charging lanterns. They all appear to be just solar charged now. Here is a link closest to the lanterns I have. amzn.to/3xHCuxn

Added all that to my list. The dark sky is interesting to me. Light pollution is real and I noticed it the first time when our town got hit by an F4 tornado in the evening. No power in town and I remember how dark it was. I’ve never seen it so dark. So to camp in a dark sky place would be neat. Hopefully someone with a telescope is there and I can take a look 😂

Ok. Here's our question. If it's been awhile since Roodle wore his boots how did you find them? We loose things in the van we used yesterday 😂😂😂
@oneadVANtureatatime Жыл бұрын
+@grayandgrumpy ha…. That happens to us all the time! Roodle has three pieces of real estate in the van 1) passenger door side pocket 2) very large dog food container in the garage 3) a box on the garage shelf Wait…. The whole van is his….who am I kidding! Anyway his boots are always kept in the passenger door😃 it’s the one thing we can find!

I tried that diet, I had to go off of it. My energy level went down to nothing, horribly fatigued. Maybe it's my age, I'm 80.
@seanveach950 Жыл бұрын
@@thelmahenriques6454 After how long? Takes weeks to months to adapt, especially if you have many issues. Many people also under eat on only, or mostly meat. Hard to eat enough when it fills you up. I follow many people that are older that are now doing things they hadn't for many years or decades in some cases. Lots of salt, maybe electrolytes while transitioning. It isn't easy for some, but worth it for most. Don't have to stay only meat, can certainly add things back in when all is good. Dr. Ken Berry is a great resource.
