You're a braver man than I to go swimming in that water - there's a squatter settlement upstream with a lot of pit toilets. Karstic limestone, which is what Roaring River Cave is formed in, is very porous. The local aquifer is incredibly polluted as a result. RS Stewart Jamaican Caves Organisation

OMG how funny....you peed in there, chicagoreggae? That's so awesome. I was there 8 years ago and I pooped in there!!! Then we swam around for like a half hour. It was funny b/c the guide was swimming with us and he saw the poop and he slapped it away thinking it was a stick/piece of tree bark!!! IT WAS AWESOME!
