I'm 18 and I just bought a R3 and have joined a few discord servers for riders and I'm genuinely surprised how many people ask why not a R6 or why not an R1, with full seriousness. They think that just cuz they started on a 600 or 1000 and lived means everyone else should do that aswell. But that isn't a majority. I've found that the majority of riders are nice people who just wanna help, but the few arrogant riders tend to ruin it. (as with anything)
@azureenterprises407010 ай бұрын
Enjoy your r3! I started with a 2009 r6 and it’s fast and awesome and I love it but after a year it’s gotten kinda boring because all I do is go fast. I’m starting to look at a r7 to stunt or an mt07 for more around town cruising instead of r6 need for speed vibes. Who cares what others think, it’s your life and your ride so enjoy it!
@wayneaustin48869 ай бұрын
I ride a r6 and I'm about to buy a 390 for the track. I started driving a slow car long time ago and know being able to out perform your equipment is when you really learn.
@vielumiereg97949 ай бұрын
They also seem to forget the fact that an R1 can be way out of someone's budget too. Especially for an 18 year old lol. Not everyone has $20,000 to blow on a 1st or 2nd bike. And tbh, for $20k, I'd rather get a car.
@riomatrix61569 ай бұрын
Yea fuck those guys. I started on a z650 and honestly was considering trading that one in for the r3. Don't get me wrong I enjoy that acceleration as much as the next guy but for me the best thrill when riding is getting some solid leans in. Cornering is the best feeling ever and a 600/1000 is just unnecessary. I mean I did end up buying the new gsx8r but I saw the bike and just fell in love with it so got that one instead lol. But yeah the r3 is crisp.🤌
@englishsteel-nz6im6 ай бұрын
Dude if they started on a 1000 or 600 I assure you they likely are not even good riders. I'm an advanced rider(lots of track time, very quick in the twisties)and am picking up an RS660 due to how balanced it is. No use for liter bikes on track or backroads. Also own a NInja 400 w/suspension upgrades that I thoroughly enjoy schooling guys on liter bikes with and an 07 GSXR 600 w/60k miles on it lol Learn to ride good and school big ego's on bikes they don't have 10% of the skill needed to push.

good to see someone talk on this from the US motovlog scene 💯 I got the same when I went from a zx6r to a MT07 instead of a zx10, then a 07 to 701 instead of a MT10, then ended up on a 450 and back to a MT07 lol I say you have more fun on a bike you can get the most out of, most of the time your riding If all you do is ride highways at 200mph then 1000cc is perfect lol if you want to improve as a rider and try new things then what you're doing is the right thing. Trying different styles of bikes, different power, different number of cylinders etc I rode the tuono v4 factory and the tuna 660 factory, and since then the 660 has been one of my favorite bikes I have been on, if I needed a do it all bike and had smooth roads that would be the one, so if the 660 you got is anything like that (I assume its the same just different body) then you made a good choice of bike 👊

Truth man. Fortunately I've been pretty fortunate so far not to have really caught much negativity on my youtube channel for starting on a 660. Honestly that's what made to most sense to me at the time and it has worked out awesome. It seems like in person the motorcycle community has been amazing though. Other bikers are always just nice. It's awesome. I agree you don't have to be fast to make content. It seems like it can actually kind of a cop out for not being creative and telling an interesting story. BTW? I 100% agree with everything, also like to add, those people making fun of other riders for being new or smaller CC motorcycles, they're forgetting one major flaw, they once were new riders, and most likely started on a 300/400/600cc motorcycle, maybe some of them started on a 1000cc, everyone starts somewhere -Positivity breeds positive results.

Hey there, I would consider myself an "experienced" rider, who has ridden a ton on both track and street. To give you more insight, those guys that consistently trash on newer riders are not truly experienced riders. Good riders, no matter what their riding, will always try to lift up riders around them in either advice, or general encouragement. The gist is- if you're a good rider, you shouldn't need to prove it to anyone. It should be noticeable.

Yea the toxic people exist in every community too. There's always the people who think their word is the gospel and get butt hurt when people disagree with them. I've owned my fair share of liter bikes and while they're fun.. There's literally no point to them other than for the track or just being an enthusiast who happens to want one. Which is ok, there's nothing wrong with that lol. Go out and buy whatever you want with your own money, ain't no one care lol. I ride a ZX4RR now and a CBR 600RR, sure, it doesn't go 2000mph, but I find it way more fun to ride the hell out of a smaller bike, than it is to keep yourself on a leash with a demon under your ass for the entire ride. Also, liter bikes nowadays, unless you find a way older used one, go into new car territory as far as pricing can go. I had a BMW S1KR at one point, and that thing costed the same as a brand new decent small car.

One FACT that does matter on the street tho, especially in big city multi lane is that sweet sweet TORQUE, an CC's bring it. If it don't matter to you, it will once past the newb or intermediate stage. Most imbeciles think that the big bore bikes just bring more speed, but its the torque that matters. Two lane country roads, I will still want the torque, but that is because once you get it, you don't go back down. Track? totally different story. Also this does not infer that someone can't be on some 400 having a great time rollin 2 lane.
