Chris O'Donoghue has long been a fan of the work of the artist, Eric Ravilious. In his short life, Ravilious produced numerous paintings, woodblocks and designs for ceramics. Tragically, while working as a war artist, the Lockheed Hudson he was a passenger in, was lost over the north Atlantic in September 1942. Chris was particularly intrigued by the paintings he made while visiting Asham Cement Works, near Lewes in East Sussex and wondered if he could reproduce his work in three-dimensions. So began the layout, The Cement Works.
