I heard a theory that Pochita is actually the “Fear of being forgotten” Devil which could directly explain his unique power, and might be enough of a separation from the “death” and/or “Dying” Devil

there is also the theory of him being the "being eaten" or "consumption" devil. and in real life it doesnt make much sense, people dont fear that. but in chainsaw man's world? being eaten is an extremely present fear both from people AND somewhat devils. but why would the devil of that have chainsaws as part of himself? well its explained at some point (or theorized i dont really remember so it may not be factual so take it with a grain of salt) that devils can gain power and such from other devils they eat while making the eaten devil weaker [war devil and such] so the theory is that pochita ate some of the chainsaw and managed to develop some aspects of it. it also would explain why there is a second chainsaw man. he IS the original chainsaw while pochita copied him after munching a part of him.

Its basically the same thing but on a higher scale, but its also one of the 5 primordial fears which would explain why Pochita is so powerful as well as why they have a theme of chainsaws as chainsaws are basically the symbol of extinction (specifically for trees but it still counts)

another interesting theory is that pochita isn't the death devil, but the birth devil. this would make sense since chainsaws were originally made for childbirth, and, as we can see in the first chapter, Denji was reborn thanks to Pochita. his ability of erasing devils from history also could fit with this theory since by eating them, pochita isn't unaliving them, he's "unbirthing" them. this could also explain why he's so powerful, since childbirth is feared by almost everyone on the planet.

I'm pretty sure it isn't the "Cthulhu devil theory" but the unknown devil, as fear of the unknown is a very big fear, and is a very common thing in Lovecraft's work, hence the unknown devil being thought of as the octopus devil considering it could manifest as something like Cthulhu And Yoshida himself is quite mysterious and unknown

Conceptually speaking, the darkness devil might me considered the equivalent to an "unknown" devil. Darkness is pretty much the fear of what you can't see, and his introduction with the astronauts along it, the pathfinders of unknown paths, strengthens it.

@@lucasdiasengel I think the Unknown Devil would have more overlap with Cosmos actually, since Cosmos is the fear of the overwhelming information of the universe. Perhaps a better devil to represent Lovecraft's work in this case would be the Impossible or Incomprehensible Devil, something that cannot and should not exist within this world but does to spite it (think non-Euclydean geometry in In the Mountains of Madness, or a color that doesn't exist in the world from The Color From Space, etc. etc.) But honestly I think the further we get into the chapters of Part 2, the more likely it is to me that Yoshida is just a subversion of Makima--someone who's set up to be a mastermind, but turns out to be mostly harmless or way in over his head. He doesn't have nearly the same amount of manipulative abilities as Makima does, and unless something changes in the future (which is entirely possible given how every other chapter seems to throw theorists into a loop), he has more perceptive and analytical skills than he has serious foresight and planning.

actually the cthulhu devil theory isn't that he's contracted with the cthulhu devil, that's a misnomer, it's that he's contracted with a devil simply inspired by cthulhu, and instead represents the entirety of cosmic horror, aka the fear of the unknown, which would easily be one of the most powerful devils. also lovecraftian mythos has had a massive affect on culture as a whole, evident by the fact it's at the status of being a whole mythos, so put some respect on cthulhu's name.

I am 90% sure that Yoshida *isn't* the death devil. (Getting info from the four horsemen in the bible and manga itself, theory and analysis) There's one panel with Fami and Nayuta explaining what would happen if all the horsemen come together, also counting on what happened in the bible. She said there'll be no pizza anymore, which could ONLY mean that if death devil appears in the manga that means everyone would die, war erupts and there'll be apocalypse. The death devil is the last horseman that appears (that matches for the story so far) , all of them together would only mean apocalypse for the world. So it's very not likely Yoshida is death devil, since by now that'll be twice as worse as gun devil attack.

None of the Four Horsemen, apart from Death, are named in the Bible. The names War, Famine, and Conquest/Pestilence are customary ones based upon their descriptions. In Revelation 6:2 it says: And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer. At the time Bow's were associated with poison from Poison arrows, another way to see it is that throughout human history disease has been one of the biggest deciding factors in conquest weather be the plague that ravaged Rome or many other surrounding civilizations. It's not that the text changed but the interpretation because only one of the four horsemen is explicitly named, this is because we have the Dead Sea scrolls to confirm it hasn't changed. Another way of viewing conquest is a state of being, war is the act of people fighting while a completed conquest is the subjugation of them after, it's the act of controlling people which fits Makima the control devil.

One of my own theories is that Yuro’s scar (or the war devil) was made by none other than puss in boots himself. We can see in many panels that the scar is the same as puss in boots signature that he signs with his sword (I’m joking)

Fujimoto could have left these numbers 108087 as a reference to the verses that fit his story. Such verses and suitable context can only be found in one book. This is the 10th chapter and 80-87 verses of the 1 Maccabees Book of the Old Testament. Why is it this book specifically? Because only in this book there is a sufficient number of verses and the necessary context corresponding to the CSM setting and characters. Such an exact set of numbers referring to 7 verses of great importance in the context of the manga cannot be done by mistake. Or can it? I don't know.. Even if it seems to someone that the Old Testament books are "too far fetched", then you are looking at them from the wrong angle. It's not about from where these verses come from, but about what they contain. Although Rizumoto's work has many similarities to biblical motifs, this still does not mean that Patsuki has Evangelion Syndrome. He twists the plots of the Bible in his story as he pleases. And yet there is a high probability that Rujimoto's ideas and thoughts for the entirety of Chainsaw manga series, and not just part 2, were hidden in these numbers. If our Takoyaki Motomoto really uses these verses as an interpretation of the events which will happen in the future, then he refers to this with these figures 10-80-87. It's all about 4 horseman and how they were defeated. That's the possible context of 10-80-87. Keep in mind that this does not mean that he follows these verses 1 to 1. Maybe he uses them in some other way. He can change the events described in verses at any time, but he still decided to leave this reference. It is very possible that in the future these numbers will act as a reference to the events of the entire series when the CSM will be completely finished. You can read what these verses are about and make your own conclusions .. 1 Maccabees Book of the Old Testament. 10th chapter 80-87 verses.
