The Champ From "Start" to Finish

This project started a little over 30 years ago. It was purchased from someone who had it in pieces in a barn. It was ground looped back in the 70's and since never flew again. My father and his friend purchased this project and it sat for many years before being touched again. In 1999 they started to work on it full time and we came upon some financial issues which stopped its restoration completely. It was not until 2014 when i finally convinced these two to finish this project and enjoy flying it! And here we are today with this beautiful flying machine.

Well thank you! Yea we have just started to fly it this last week. I will try to get some video this weekend if I can of us flying it as well.

Thank you! Yeah it was a long restoration but I’m glad they finished it! I’m the only one flying it for now. But that may change in the future!

We did a lot of work just to get to this point. They purchased this plane about 35 years ago and just finished it last year haha...but yea, its been a fun build!

Haha no, we got the plane after it ground looped in the 70's. But we just didnt restore it until now.

Beautiful Champ, but it would have been great to actually hear the motor and sounds of takeoff. The music was too much and ruined an otherwise great video. Part of seeing an airplane takeoff is hearing an airplane takeoff.
