I’m a diamond 5 hog OTP and I’m trying to learn to adapt to more play styles and it’s really hard just because everyone’s mental is so bad man they get mad while I’m still learning to adapt and give up a minute into the game. It’s so frustrating because I try to be positive and tell my team it’s winnable and that I’m trying to adjust my playstyle to the team but they still blame me even when they won’t swap or anything which ti me is fine I don’t care I just don’t want to be flamed for doing the same thing. Everyone is so toxic on this game man.

So relatable. 1 bad round and my whole team gives up and flames me even though a lot of the time they aren't playing with the tank at all and dying to nothing. (I had a game once where i just sat on cart and watched my team run to the enemies and die non-stop, all while spamming group up 😂) I try to give advice, be positive and I rarely see it back. Doom/Rein main is the worst experience with what you're talking about because of the countering and cc abuse. The thing is, the scoreboard makes this issue way worse. It is so misleading because sometimes on tank you do so much for your team like make space, take aggro, prevent ults e.t.c that dont show up and so you can have a really good game from a technical point but because your K/D is like 12 and 9 and your sojourn is like 22 and 7 it looks like your team carried you when in reality it was legit the other way around.

unfortunately one person counter swapping will always be easier than the entire team swapping for you, so unless you're carrying particularly hard and they just need that extra edge.. it will always be expected of you to swap. sadge.

Master hog here, you never hook first, unless it's for an environmental kill. Everyone is one shot, then the hook combo. For tanks, same thing, but some need two shots first, like Doom.
