Last month I’ve seen this team fight and stay focused despite bad shooting. The loss last night isn’t alarming. This was as good a road trip result. 4-1 beating the Kings back to back was near perfect ! Even though they were tired the last game, they still were in the game and had a chance to win. I wish they could win every game but that’s not how this works.

Letting McGee go, still under contract, and re-signing DP was the Dumbest move this franchise could have ever done! Nico you FOOL!! Who's stupid decision to sign the smurf again after seeing he was unplayable in the playoffs! I still have nightmares of the WCF's against the GSW where we couldn't get a rebound or hit a 3 and were destroyed in the paint! But saw it all again last night! Thanks Nico! Would of been nice to sign a real NBA backup in case this happens and lively or Gafford go down so we not in a sinking ship again stuck with DP and maxi as our centers! That's a quick exit in the playoffs if we have to play them again! Please get DP, Maxi & THJ off this team and start playing your better players off the bench!!

A major part of the defnsinve improvent around the rim is the addition of Gafford. Prior to the addition of center depth with DG, we didn't have any legitimate big besides Lively. Now we get 42-48 minutes of good performance in the middle every game when healthy. Also, PJ was a major upgrade over Grant Wiilliams on D with his length, not forgetting that he is much more dynamic on offense.

Love how for the past 3 seasons the Mavs State Media experts have been propping up THJ, DP, & now Josh Green while degrading the fanbase who were actually calling for better players & putting up murals to show this... Fast forward to today, and THJ & Green are the 9th & 10th men in the rotation, with DP as a borderline out of the league candidate. Clown Wood as much as you want, I'm not a Christian Wood stan by any means... But I'd 1000% take him over THJ, Green, & DP in a HEARTBEAT (*if J Kidd didn't hate him). Wood was 16.6ppg on 50+% fg/39% 3-pt, 1bpg & had the most rebounds/minute... THJ, DP, & Green are all awful defenders, don't playmake, don't rebound, nowhere near the production. THJ gets 15ppg on 40.5% fg/36% 3-pt, and is just as awful of a defender. At the very least Wood was getting defensive rebounds & blocks, on top of being the 2nd leading scorer on super efficient shooting splits.

They need to hire an assistant coach who can do just two things: remind Jason Kidd to use his timeouts like a normal head coach to stop opponent scoring runs/reset appropriately and second, to remind him to never put Hardaway in the game in fourth quarter (if ever)

Lively is the best thing mavs could dream off from the tanking last year , amazing kid i hope he stays at dallas for a long time , pj washisngton maybe is liabillity on offense but his defence is ELITE, should get more credit for it . The problem is timmy hardaway, kleber , that should be at the end of the rotation of kidd . The last game lost was cause by kidd , he got outcoached by kerr thats all. From my view they should keep let exum play at the 4th quarter , the guy has a heart and he dont force his game , just wanna make the right play , bench djj at the end and keep the lineup of kyre,pj,luka,gafford/lively.

benching sounds like a punishment. but it's not really that at least in Europe, where we start the best version of a team against that particular oponent. Maybe NBA narrative means is more star showcase bragg oriented. Also stars vs. role players or bench warmers... maybe that is how it's easier to understand for fantasy and fan base. But in reality, it is the team that wins, team that best complements each other in a 5 person team game. Benching can be used more in schools with stubborn kids, not with grown men in a professional team.

Mavs cannot make deep run if 1) bench is not coming ready to the games. At least three players from Exum, THJ, Hardy, Green, Maxie have to score double digits. These are the designated 3-pts guys and they better hit their threes. Some coach has to be responsible for the contribution from the bench. 2) PJ and DJJ must not take 3-pts shots. Their game is jumpers, floaters, put-backs, and offensive rebounds. They are going to get enough opportunities to score when the threes are not falling in. Keep them around and in front of the paint on both ends. Their primary function is defense. Let them play defense. To drive the point home - a pinch hitter must never be asked to pitch because he is not contributing enough. 3) Kidd has to control the games at least the last quarter - timely timeouts, adjustments to other team plays and so on. Easiest rule is to stop the play if other team has made 10-0 run.

Why would you put PJ and DJJ in front of the paint? They are both starters, and our center doesn't shoot 3s either. So, three guys who don't even have a decent post game or good footwork are clogging the paint while Luka and Kyrie are on the perimeter? What are Luka and Kyrie going to do, just rain 3s because you've already clogged the paint? If they double Luka or Kyrie, it will be easier because you don't have to rotate and recover with three guys in one place. Dude, make it make sense.
