To be Fair, most of the Characters in Tekken 7 were not very well Developed, While Characters still remain the Same - Bryan, Fei, Nina and King. But others actually got some Good Motives - Steve, Miguel, Claudio, Xiaoyu and Hworang. But others were a Waste of Time - Asuka, Lily and Bob. Edit: Don't even get me Started on Yoshimitsu and Leo.

Tekken 3 may have had the strongest cast of new characters in gaming history. Eddy, Hwoarang, and Jin were the dopest characters off rip. Ling Xaioyu stood out much more than she did in later games, and my god you could unlock this dude named Brain F*kin Fury. It's a shame Eddy and Hwoarang fell off lore wise, as they both had so much potential. One beefing with Kauzya and the others Jin's rival smh. Eddy definitely got it the worst though. That ending with Lucky Chloe brings me physical pain every time I watch it.

Think anyone that isn't directly related to Kazuya got boned. At least Lei Wulong has the excuse of being Jackie Chan, Asuka, the Laws, Paul, and Eddy got screwed hard. Asuka went from a potential connection to Jin and Jun to messing about with a Morocan sadomasochist, the Laws and Paul are comic relief - despite Paul beating Ogre and fighting Kazuya to a draw in his case, and we have Eddy Gordo. And it's not just Eddy, in the context of his story having now turned him into a complete clownshow, think about this for a few seconds, no, really, in all seriousness, do it. Because then you'll realize, how absolutely ABHORRENT this is, in terms of disrespect and what I mean is: Christie's only ending, that was actually canon, is the one in Tekken 6, where she and Eddy failed to save their loved one. And that is the ONLY ending of them, that is actually canon. Can't they catch a single break? Especially Christie? And you got to love, how in Tag 2, the game still treated Christie like the death of her grandpa didn't even happen yet and she still remains all positive, with a smile on her face, despite the fact, this was a really dumb design choice to keep her being all smiles and sunshine. Yeah, the game is not canon, but it still references the main plot, so it really doesn't make any sense, to keep her that way. And in Tekken 7, we know jackshit about where even Christie has gone off to. Like, it makes you question, is she doing OK? Is she still alive? What happened to her? Was she able to cope with the death of her grandfather, or do I have to fear for the worst and have the assumption, she killed herself out of sorrow, because Eddy left her behind again, during the worst low point in her life? I just don't know, the game mentions nothing about her in this regard and the game devs are so freaking useless, they simply lack the professionalism to answer questions about lore-related stuff and instead focus on acting like big tough guys towards random people on the internet with shit like "Don't ask me for shit" and "Shut up! And sit the hell down!". ...these are the same folks that gave us Tekken 4 and 5, mind you. And they can't be arsed to have a tiny bit of decency, by giving simple responses about the lore, off-screen. So basically, Eddy is a clown now and Christie was probably Thanos-snapped out of existence. So much buildup and in the end, what do we receive? A stomp on the toe and spit in the face, while they laugh at our expense. And people ask, "Why do you care so much about the characters, in a fighting game?", well, the question is, "Would you rather play a completely generic fighting game, that has simply no flare, no style, no creative design, no personality, no nothing and all the content that it boils down to is fighting, fighting, fighting, plus frame data for practice mode and that's all she wrote? No one, that is even a fan of fighting games, ever said that, I guarantee you that, because fighting games, are still videogames and you NEED to give character to the game, otherwise, nobody will give two flying shits about the game. There is a reason why Virtua Fighter failed as a series: It had simply nothing to make it stick out. And that involves the characters. So shut your mouth.".

Tekken 7 is a super fun game to play, but the story hit rock bottom. Dumb retcons to Heihachi's motivations, Kazuya is cemented as a 1 dimensional villain, and 80% of the cast are irrelevant at this point. And lets not even talk about how pointless Akuma's inclusion was. He just showed up to do nothing and his relationship with Kazumi went unexplained.

Akuma's role in the story could have been replaced by the newer characters in the game and nothing would change. For instance instead of having Kazumi hire Akuma to kill her husband and son here's an even better idea 1: During the scene where Heihachi is meditating in the Mishima Dojo have Kazuya send G Corp's bio-enhanced super weapon Gigas to kill him, during the fight both sides are fairly even but in the end Gigas ultimately wins believing to have killed Heihachi while simultaneously destroying the Mishima Dojo in the process. 2: Heihachi having survived the ambush calls the Archers of Sirius to invade G Corporation to expose Kazuya as a Devil to the rest of the world. This could lead to a huge battle between G Corp soldiers and the Archers and more importantly Claudio vs Kazuya. They fight, Kazuya turns into a Devil, Heihachi captures him on footage and as the fight continues Heihachi fires the Mishima Zaibatsu Orbital Laser Satellite destroying the building and having thought to have killed Kazuya and possibly Claudio. 3: (Only if you don't want Claudio to die and want Kazuya to have that final battle in the end), after Kazuya kills Heihachi for good and drops his body in the lava have Claudio make an entrance by firing his magical arrows at Kazuya but barely missing his mark. Kazuya becomes Devil Kazuya and the two have a rematch, Kazuya fires his Devil Blaster at Claudio and Claudio in return musters all of his holy power and manifests a magical arrow more powerful than any arrow he conjured before and fires at Kazuya. Both attacks clash, the volcano erupts and the outcome of the fight is unknown. With this change we not only get rid of Akuma entirely (just have him be a guest character in the game) but we also incorporate other characters into the main plot something that the game devs should have always done.

Indeed. In my arrogant opinion, Eddie should wipe the floor with Chloe. He is 29 years old in Tekken. And has a decent skills in capoeira and street fighting, sine he was a teen. I really doubt Chloe ever have any martial arts training.

Tho he has a decent story he clearly established nothing ever since T3. Heck they should've took him off after T6 & replaced him with Christie with her story about avenging her grandfather against Jin for not curing him after finding out Eddy was working for Jin. Like keep Capoeira going but also add a lil Brazilian jujitsu in the mix.

I hate most of Tekken 7's stories, they're just so stupid. And I know it's a fighting game, and fighting game stories tend to be stupid, but Tekken 7 took them to a higher level of stupid than average.

Tekken 5 was a great time in my opinion, one of the better Tekken storylines that nearly rivals Tekken 3 in terms of character hype and story continuation- then came Tekken 6- the lore became a shit storm of no pure closure to all of your main favorite casts.

Don't get too carried away for KOF XV, because not all Stories in Fighting Games are Perfect regardless of how Polarizing people would feel about it, Any Character can be a Champ, but most of them are going to End up becoming Jobbers at some point.

@Fatal Lightning To be awfully Fair, every Arcade Endings for the Characters are not always Great in Fighting Games, they are mostly just "What-if" Scenarios because either of them are Canon or not Canon at all, they mostly only Follow the ones that are *Less Severe* (mostly the Good Guy or Protagonist/Main Character) Endings, but not the ones with the *Most Severe* (like the Neutral, Bad Guy or Antagonist/Main Villain) Endings, For Example, the "Women Fighters Team" or the "Villains Team" that Won in the KOF XIV Tournament is obviously never going to be Canon (not even in their Dreams), the "Invitation Team" also never Won the KOF XIV Tournament but the Scene where Ash Crimson is Resurrected is possibly Canon, So from what I Understand, it's most likely the Canonical Winners is probably going to be "Team China" or "Team Japan" since these 2 are the *Less Severe* Endings.

The issue with media these days are the actual consumers. These gen z consumers the companies want to grab have short attention spans and don't invest in content like the older generation does. Nobody was as Hurt as Kenny(Unroolie) of "YovideoGames". The Man's spirit was crushed under the feet of Namco and Harada, Kenny even cosplayed Eddie for two weeks. I watched the whole stream. I'm not even an Eddie Gordo Fan and I was hurt to see them do this to Eddie, Him being killed by Kazuya or Jin, in a end game scene, would have been more honorable than this, SMH.

Eddy Gordo one of my mains first and foremost really did make Capoeira explode before this yeah you had Richard Meyers from Fatal Fury and Elena from SF prior but none of them had the impact Eddy did. Wow I didn’t know of the story of Eddy going to prison and also I always wondered in T3 intro who that old guy was whom at first thought were coming on to Hwoarang so that was Eddy’s master and Eddy escapes prison then everything on Eddy discovering Kazuya was the man responsible for murdering his family and his bond with Christie and being one of Jin’s bodyguards. I wish in T7 they made Eddy fought Kazuya and canonically beats him until he becomes Devil and washes Eddy in the same parallel drawn with Hwoarang in T5 beating Jin only for him to go Devil Jin and overpower him this still makes Hwoarang look good cause he beat Jin the most powerful character and no shame losing to Devil Jin in the same way no shame losing to powered up Devil Kazuya the strongest characters in the game I also wish they went with T5 ending instead and made a similar ending in T6 canon he gets enough money from working with the Mishima Zaibatsu under Jin to make all that mean something.

Richard Myer and his protégé Bob Wilson (excellent authentic Brazilian names btw) both from Fatal Fury series were allegedly Capoeristas, but I say that loosely since their depiction of authentic Capoeira was anything but. Especially their neutral stance (the Jinga movement of which Eddy Gordo does more accurately). Absolutely terrible. Then Capcom's Street Fighter III in 97' introduced Elena who was a Capoeirista from Africa...with white hair (related to Storm of the X-Men maybe?). Her Capoeira authenticity fared a bit better as her standing animation was actually rotoscopped from a Japanese Capoeira practitioner, but it as still a bit flawed. So Eddy in Tekken 3 really brought in the authenticity angle to a higher level, having his moves motion captured off of Capoeira Abada school's head instruction Mestre Marcelo. Of course Namco did add in a few other non Capoeira moves like Breakdancing's Flare move but that was expected

I don't think the lucky Chloe ending by itself is a problem by itself, because part of what the joke is banking off of is the fact that Eddy is a very serious character. However, in Eddy's own ending, the fact its just more Lucky Chloe shlock is what really blows. Tekken's goofy moments, even with serious characters, are awesome imo, but when the fact that Eddy gets ZERO serious narative attention is just a damn shame.

I imagine you'll have your work cut out for ya in the future. I am making a prediction that there will be less story come Tekken 8. Like it will be the Mishama storyline and that's it. You've seen already how little was put into the game's "Arcade" mode, so it will be more of the same. Oh and a sprinkle of E-sports. That's the future of Tekken and every other prominent fighting game imo.
