The third year he absolutely lost everyone, the media, the fans, but most importantly the team. All his "analytics" went out the window... The playoff loss, and that raiders game stand out as some of the worst decisions/adjustments ever mad, but Id put Romeo Crennel with the Chiefs as worse, Gus Bradley with the Jaguars (14-48), Josh McDaniels stands out as well haha... and Hue Jackson with the Browns Id put ahead of Staley. But Staley is up there no doubt with that roster.

The only reason the Chargers haven't been the worst team in the NFL the last 4 years is because of Herbert! He carried the team whose defense was always bottom 5 and an offense that was never healthy with bad depth. Keenan and Mike Williams played 6 out the last 35 games together. He had Deandre Carter, Joshua Palmer, and Michael Bandy as his top 3 WRs multiple games. Not to mention he always had a bottom 3 run game to work with

Management and Harbaugh have done well with what they have to work with. I noticed all the one year deals and that’s good, better to try out different players in a completely new scheme with Roman as OC. If they work out, extent them, if not, then don’t. I’m growing to like the Alt pick more and more knowing that the O-Line is going to be way more solid. I’m not worried about receivers, Herbert had to deal with Allen and Williams both out under Staley for that matter two years ago. Finally excited to see this team thrive after way too long.

I think Herbert was developing some bad habits regarding his reliance on Keenan. Forcing ridiculous throws to Keenan because he trusted nobody else etc. I think Harbaugh will make things really easy for him. And this will be more small ball 12 Personnel over 11. This team could not run the ball on early downs. Especially second halves of games. Routinely in 3rd and long and 3 and outs. Defense always gassed in the 2nd half. The only way to get the team overall better was by trying to control defenses via the OL. And i suspect just running...blocking and protecting will sustain drives at a much higher clip. I also think Herbert still like Parham a lot so i could see him and Hearst competing for snaps and going with the hotter hand each week. That pass catching TE in this system is more of a concern than the WR room for me now. I really liked Rice and McConkey runs routes better than Keenan was when he first came out and was drafted in the 3rd. I worry about Ladd getting jammed but i think he is just way to crafty to not always get off and get open. The deep speed on this team is legit as well. And if Herbert has time behind this OL? Her will throw some monster bombs. Teams will get lulled to sleep and forget he has a top 3 arm in this league.
