Out of curiosity, how many instances have there been where the chaser’s speed would’ve doomed them with just one mistake? I can recall this one, Anne’s 25-step final from the season prior… Don’t forget that even Mark’s *epic* 26-step clean sweep in Season 2 would’ve likely been a loss had he tripped up on one - he only had 3 seconds left, and there’s no telling if the next question would’ve been easily interceptible or not!

The one that springs to mind is when Paul faced 26 in series 9, he hit a speed of 13.5 q/m, so he would have been doomed had he made a mistake and been pushed back. Of course, he made many more mistakes in that final

I must admit, if I'd seen the Cane Corso as a written question without pronunciation, I probably would've got it wrong. As it was, I heard it as Canae Corsa, so I got dog. Yes, I know "canae" does not mean dog but that's how my brain works! 😋🤪
