In the third one there are TWO questions where the answer is "Four". When he has a split second left and there isn't nearly enough time to hear the question, Mark often says something anyway, a 1 / 1,000,000 shot. "Four" is one of those answers, along with "USA" and "Japan", and I understand it here!

Most of those situations it was the missed pushbacks that was the deciding factor in those final chases (albeit I dont think the failed pushbacks in the first clip mattered too much). The last one was just unreal luck on the Beast's part. Nothing that could have been done there. Amazing.

There is an Oxford Union video where he is interviewed about the Chase, and how he knows his answers. He just says he is a sponge, he absorbs information and that the more you practice quizzing, the more you know how questions are asked, and how they are answered.

Well i know im 9 months late but germany was reunited in October of 1990 and the world cup ended in july, therefore technically West Germany didnt exist by the time the world cup was over.

@Qasim Hussain well actually a solo player doesn't use buzzers, so has more time to get a higher target. As a solo player it is possible to get 36, if it is in a clean sweep and if they are answering at the top performance (mark labbett's best performance in the 28-step final chase, but in a clean sweep). The chaser also needs a clean sweep to catch it. Realistically, a score of 32 is achievable (given top performance), with room to make mistakes

I just want to see a chaser not being able to catch a team even in a clean sweep also david and christine were just watching there not being able to do anything and only spectating the beast catching them. They could do nothing but spectate. also do each chaser's top 5 targets set for them
