idk if it got hinted at or if it was just my expectation but I feel like I didn't really learn much with this one, we already knew abyss people were cursed khaenri'ah people I believe, right?

@@RednasYo Hillychurl aren't part of the abyss order and we didn't know for sure if they were also cursed kaenrian. It was speculated a lot but not official yet. Also we didn't know the specifics of the curse, we know a bit more now. Like, we know that their spirits are degrading which leads to them dying in the end and stuff like that.

@@khaenriya no he only said members of the abyss order; abyss mage, herald, etc. Even if hilichurl are often seen working with the abyss order they're not technically part of it. That's why we/paimon asked the question in this quest. We didn't know before even if there was a lot of clue.

@@RednasYo yes but not hilichurls specifically! the hilichurls we saw were former khaenrians, which is why halfdan was protecting them. but not all hilichurls are from khaenriah. some of them are from other ancient civilizations perhaps.

I feel like, when Halfdan says "Khaenri'ah didn't fall, since you're still here", he meant more like in the sense that Khaenri'ah's legacy is still alive in Dainsleif, and the gods didn't manage to completely wipe that off. I guess that's why it was so touching when Dainsleif replied with "No need to revive the homeland". Honestly, I'm so intrigued to discover how this all ties with Kaeya, the only other reoccurring character with direct ties to Khaenri'ah (not counting Albedo since he explicitly told us he wasn't actually created in Khaenri'ah).

You can make further connections!! Celestia condemned enkanomiya, dragonspine, the chasm and khaenriah with similar curses. Because they came too close to figuring out "the truth", whatever that may be. For dragonspine its plunging a nail and causing permanent frost and unlivable conditions. Enkanomiya got plunged far below the sea. The chasm got bonked with a nail an cursed with the weird goo that causes sickness to people without vision. And then khaenriah has the curse, and the homeland being wiped. There was also some lore that hilichurls existed before the events 500 years go (khaenriah) so its safe to assume the immortality-erosion curse has happened to the civilisations of the chasm dragonspine and enka.

fun fact(that's actually not fun): if you go to where the hilichurls were, you'll only see mask remains in their stead :')) i think what dain is trying to fight is the fact that the abyss order is acting like gods, choosing the fate of the people of khaenri'ah when the hilichurls themselves have already chosen the way they want to go. it also goes against what the black serpent knights want to do, which is to protect the people (because what the abyss order is trying to do is only give them more pain). i think, for dain, fighting the erosion is just trying to delay the inevitable by using painful means, and won't give the people of khaenri'ah peace at all. just my thoughts, but nonetheless, thank you for the fun vid and commentary!!

I'm even more curious towards kaeya's part in all of this, now we know for sure sure that khanrians seem to have star shaped eyes, but then how is kaeya not affected by the curse? If he's an offspring of people who survived how did they survive? also albedo's master gold, how was she also affected and does dain know about her and kaeya and I also find it interesting that both kaeya and gold have a deeper connection to mond than other nations as well as the fact we met dain in mond. SO MANY QUESTIONS Also something to note, dains neck always had purple leaking from under the eye patch but it got more from the device activation, does "it" have something to do with the eye patch, if so then that also explains kaeya's eyepatch or at least hints at them being similar

The way that Halfdan still remembers what his duty is after 500 years and protects all of them, even on his last mission. I cried when Dainsleif meets Halfdan for the last time, telling him that he did a great job doing his mission. Also, the archon quest feels so short after a loooooooong story quest just to unlock it

I won't lie, this quest made me cry lol! Both at when Lumine saw Aether and that ending cutscene with Dainsleif and Halfdan's soul. That last cutscene is probably my favorite cutscene in the entire game now, the feels hit me like a TRUCK. This quest actually did give quite a bit of lore, and I think the stuff they introduced but left unanswered (for example, the "it" Dain mentions that kept him conscious) has made me even MORE excited for the next quest we get with Dainsleif. Not gonna lie, this whole quest just made me love Dainsleif a lot, especially as a character. He's really complex and fascinating, and I feel like he does have good intentions in a way. Definitely cemented him as one of my favorite characters in the game!! As always, I loved your commentary!! Honestly the only channel where I actively watch your genshin videos because your commentary is hilarious and entertaining!

I absolutely love these traveler twins quest. Can't believe its been a year since the we will be reunited quest. The amount of lores these quest gives out is just so deeeep and im all in to play the game until the story ends! Halfdan's sacrifice in the end got me sad, even in the end while suffering, he finished his mission to protect everyone, plus dain's line to him "so, no need to revive the homeland" just hits so hard. As for ur question, i'd say keep the world quest for unlocking the area here unless u wanna 100% chasm this soon ehe. The thing is, what happened 500 years ago isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things. Dragonspine was nuked by Celestia way before that, so was Tsurune island, and probly many more. Celestia nukes civilizations that get too advanced, too close to uncovering Celestia's origins.

I loved this archon quest so much. It gave us so much lore, and honestly it made me so sad. I didn’t expect it to make me bawl my eyes out but it was too heartbreaking knowing the background of hilichurls and serpent knights. Made me feel more suspicious about the archons and made me question more whether they are the bad guys. This is why egg will always be my fav archon bc she wasn’t involved in the destruction of Khaenri’ah.

This quest was so good but the more we go deeper into the story the more I have trust issues towards the archons. I think betrayal is upon us and I can't shake off that feeling. 24:16 Actually that thought was well substantiated, and probably it would've also been said by us in addition to the defiled statue if Chasm required completing Enkanomiya - however, the resemblence is there and not without a reason. Later in the quest Dain says that this was part of an older civilization that Khaenri'ah, and actually we do know of one civilization like that. The unified civilization that lived under the Primordial One, and that Enkanomiya was a part of before it fell into the depths that it is now in. It's the exact same architecture and related to the same civilization, that's also why the soundtrack in the Chasm near this style of ruins becomes reminiscent of Enkanomiya soundtrack 41:30 It's only been addressed in the in-game description of the teleport afaik. The people see them as ancient gimmicks, and pretty much only we know their purpose. They also can't use them, however the portable waypoint can be used by any vision user. Tho these ruins do kinda suggest that they might've been built by the ancient unified civilization (especially considering how they're also in Enkanomiya) Oh and btw, the world quest chain required to unlock this quest gives quite a bit of interesting lore, including lore relating to Celestia - overall ever since Inazuma the world quest started being both more interesting, and more important, it's really a shame that they aren't voiced which causes a lot of people to ignore/skip them

This is handsdown the best quest in the game yet. I have never cried this hard about anything in this game except when I got Venti on his first banner, winning 50/50. That's also when I realized that I have a stronger emotional connection to Dain than I originally thought o.o I thought I got my emotions sorted this time but the last cutscene still got me shed a few tears 😩 I hope it won't be another year till we get more Dain content AND DON'T YOU DARE MANIFEST THAT HE DIES 😭 loved your reaction to everything as always and your cheesy jokes definitely helped with keeping me a little more calm! Aaa this was one of my favorite archon quest so far but it did felt too shortt :( I'm really not sure who's side to pick its a 50/50 for me but I'm kinda leaning more towards dain But let's see how it goes As always your archon quest reaction and story quest reaction are so freaking fun to watch I did both the archon and the ayato quest on the day 2.6 came out (had my exams this week so yeah... ;~;) Soon after doing it i was thinking rednasyo will make a video on this and i was really excited and waiting for it Btw Ayato story quest is really good its quite different and my second favorite after itto's quest the dialogs/story writing was good and va was really good too Sorry for the long paragraph-

i also have a theory (:3 may sound stupid lol), i believe that both twins were sends to different places in time, aether to kaenriah and lumine to mondastadt. Aether (like us) became the hero of kaenriah with dainsleif as travel partner, so when things got ugly and the people of kaenriah were cursed ( by the gods in celestia) , aether tried to protect them and save them (he´s still trying) he knows the archons turned their backs on kaenriah.

This exact point about Khaenri'ah is in fact a little hazy still. We never had the opportunity to talk about it with venti, zhongli chickened out and didn't talk about it, so the only person talking about the event through ther archon's point of view is Ei, and even so, the only thing that we know is that when the archons attacked Khaenri'ah, they've retaliated by sending wolfs to attack inazuma (the events that Ei talks about during her second story quest) since we know for a fact that the rifthounds that attacked inazuma are part of the abyss. Ei also doesn't look like she regrets what happened there too much. So it's pretty hard to belive that the events with Durin were the only reason for why the archons and celestia attacked Khaenri'ah.

For the lore about teleport waypoints one person said it could be our sibling who created those as "check points" during their travels (like the time travel theory you are talking of) During the GAA event Alice created boats with their own waypoints so either it could be her who made it. They connect to the leylines after all. All of this is based off from the info in game

Timeline wise, the Twins were awaken in different times. Bro/sis woke up first and "traveled" with Dainsleif until the fall of Khaenri'ah. In the starting cut scene of the game, Dainsleif is no longer with Bro/sis meaning the fall out has happened and the "journey" for him/her is over. Traveler meets bro/sis in Celestia and was sent away. Traveler once again begins his/her journey this time with Paimon. We know that time/space travel is possible in this world. It's possible that Traveler was sent forward in time. Bro/sis has no recollection of what happened in Celestia with the unknown god so it's possible that it's backward for bro/sis' timeline and Traveler is in in a loop. We don't know where bro/sis is at the moment and when they will meet in Celestia according to bro/sis timeline.

53:12 The archons are gods, but not "the gods" Archons are more or less just "Moderators" and the ones in celestia are "Admins", by comparison that is more understandable Archons took the thrones of each region, and they supervise it but they're not the all powerfull ones making the final descisions of teyvat.

Paimon asks a lot of questions about why is it happening whatever is happening in the chasm after doing several world quests. I think this is where theory crafters come in as the answers lie within all the story quests and world quests, especially that of the Chasm. The world quests are saddening, making us feel sorry over Hilichurls, Fatui who were stuck inside the chasm all these years and a lot of stuff that's not technically the part of the chasm.
