Some advice for any solar panel buyers. The size of the solar panel equates to its wattage ! No matter what the advertised Wattage is. It's easiest in metric. 1 square metre = 200W (10.5 sq ft to the sq m) or roughly 1 square foot = 20W The panel tested looks to me like a standard 1m by 0.5m panel so 0.5 sq m = 100W (40x20 inch) So the 2 panels total between 180 & 220W max output at standard conditions. (Daniel doesn't tell us what the conditions are except it's hot & humid). Output depends on sunshine not heat or humidity. In a very hot Florida on a cloudy day, output would probably be at the level Daniel showed us. You could achieve similar output in the Dakotas on a clear sunny winters day. The cost of these panels should be around the $60 range each ($120 total. I base this on UK prices but our tariffs & shipping usually make it more expensive for us). The panels are not junk, they are what they are. They're standard flexible panels. They won't last as long as non flexible panels as they're not as well protected from the elements and their flexibility results in damage. What they are is a very versatile, relatively low cost power producer. If you treat them well they'll last a long time, if you don't, they won't. The little blue box is a very common (PWM) charge controller. It's the cheapest you can get (worth about $10) and is about 20% less efficient than an MPPT type but they are a bit more expensive & PWM's are often advertised as MPPT (a bigger minefield than panels). Another rough guide for these panels. Count the number of square elements on the panel & multiply by 3 to get the rough Wattage. Daniels panel has 4 x 9 elements = 36. multiplied by 3 = 108 Watts (roughly. Not all elements are the same but a lot are). It's a minefield but there is a way through it without losing an arm or a leg (UK saying).

Yep. I thought so too. 100 watt each. Plus flex panels don't last a year.

Thank you so much! This was very helpful. We have had our DPU’s for a couple of months. We do have our Smart Home Panel 2 as well and are still waiting on permits because our set up is pretty complex. We have a lot of solar on our home and it all has to be integrated correctly. We are looking at picking up a couple of EcoFlow panels so we can have them if we decide to throw one of the DPU’s …with only one of the batteries …in the back of our EV if we decide to head out on a trip. So far we have just been charging them with the AC (from the wall) when the sun is out so we are charging them using the sun but indirectly…lol…can’t wait for the SHP2 permits to be cleared and everything installed. Thanks again for a great video!

Glad it was helpful! I do recommend shopping around for solar panels. The EF panels are good however they're more expensive than comparable panels from other providers that are just as good for less money. Not the ones in this review however. :)

100 watt each. Plus flex panels don't last a year. Those cheap charge controllers work as long as you don't get any where near the amps they are rated for. To protect and stabilize the wiring and basically prevent shorts, you can hot glue gun glue where the wires come out once you've got the wiring installed and they are perfect for charging up your lead acid car battery. Get glass panels, though.

Is it good for running spot lights at least?

Meh, I think there's better options out there for that. There are some panels that are accurately rated on Amazon...just not these. Could these do it? Probably not sure I'd want to.

I don't like flexible solar panels because they don't last on the average however with that being said any flexible panel that cost less then a glass panel you should be weary of.

I ordered 2-600w panels from the same ad. I got the same results and had a refund/return approved, repacked them and had them back at the ups store the same day as I received them. I won't be ordering 2 - 800 watt panels from them.

You could actually buy a genuine Jinko 500w panel for less than that.

And you would actually get 500w! :)

These panels were junk. I built two suitcase style panel combos using four 170w rigid hinged together for my portable DIY power station. Works great if the ~44# weight isn't an issue, but I needed something that could reliably meet rated output to charge two 300ah batteries in a reasonable amount of time. It's worked great this summer to have A/C and a fridge when I go camping.
