Loved this hotel! $5 minimums on all card games! Only issue is because it's slightly off Fremont they deal with a lot of homelessness. I was twice harassed by homeless while gambling there, but security was very quick to get them away from me.

Great video, man! The Grand has had a really interesting rise - glad to see that they’ve dialed in casino operations. The low minimums on the table games are a great niche for them, it seems. I’m 100% a machine guy (mostly video poker), but when we move to Vegas (this year), I’m tempted to learn craps and the Grand seems like a perfect spot to cut one’s teeth. Great content as always - my girlfriend and I always enjoy your videos. Looking forward to meeting you one day!

Helpful hint: if you stay at a downtown hotel and a good night sleep is important- avoid staying in hotel towers that are close to the Fremont Street Experience. The music is mega loud with sonic booms until 2-4am. The Downtown Grand is a few blocks away so you you don't hear the loud noises there at all. Look up reviews online to see which downtown hotels have noise problems and which towers to avoid.

Thanks for another great video! I would love to stay at the downtown Grand but I can’t convince my fiancé. We won’t be back till our honeymoon in October 2024 so he only wants to be center strip #diva…. We love gambling at downtown Grand though! Last time we were at that specific casino was Sept. 2023 and I lost my phone. Their staff was so sweet and helpful and found it for me. And no - the alcohol free thing is not lame, it’s very cool and mature. Wish we had that much self control 😅

The Downtown Grand is carving a nice niche out for itself. It is catching on as a great place for low rollers and table limits where you can learn a game for cheap or gamble all night at a blackjack, craps, or roulette table for $5 minimums. It's also a pretty nice place and not a dump either. They have great drink specials for happy hour and a nice rooftop pool deck with a nice party area. It's nothing amazing but nice for downtown. And they charge reasonable prices for rooms. It's nothing spectacular but is a solid choice for people who have been to Vegas before and just want to go there and stay up late gambling and drinking and not get gouged on everything. It's also in a great location. Near Fremont but not directly on it and maybe only a 3-5 minute walk. And directly across from the mob museum. It's a good home base and you can always walk to the other casino's on Fremont or uber one day to the strip.

I absolutely loved staying at the Downtown Grand last September and it will be my solo trip home. Pizza Rock is also quite excellent. There’s some good video poker at the furnace bar in the center.

Yeah that does suck.. I have been coming to the grand for years.. That will stop now.. I came in last week and I was going to play craps.. I was expecting my usual 10x time odds.. I step up to the table 3x/4x/5x odds now. Oh well it was a nice place but I think management is messing it up.

I've stayed there. Not the best experience, IMO, but OK. Btw, Jorge, in your time of abstaining from drinking, I have a suggestion for a delicious virgin cocktail, and it's very simple to make. Just get some quality sparkling mineral water and, in a glass filled halfway with ice, add one part mineral water and one part cranberry juice cocktail (Ocean Spray or similar brand)... soooo refreshing

Hey, thanks for your video. I really enjoyed it. Don’t forget to ask for butter or sour cream with your carnivore meal. Sometimes you get it for free I know they might charge extra for cheese or cream cheese or yogurt or maybe you get lucky and ask for a substitution. I feel 30 years younger since I started carnivore in February Last year. Also, I have not had a drink since December 2022 a margarita on my anniversary 21 years. Thanks to your video I’m gonna go visit the ah Grand and play some roulette. Don’t forget to mention about the parking costs they said that if you can get some play and you can get your parking comp perhaps or discount it, but normally it’s $10-$20 depending how long you’re in there. ❤ best wishes to you and you’re not missing a dang thing by eliminating alcohol from your diet.

Some say that if I went 90 days (or 365 in your case) why not keep going and abstain ? I enjoy drinking; the flavors, beer/whiskey/mixers and the buzz. I don't smoke pot, etc. In my case, if I'm not addicted and I can give it up for 90+/365 days, why not enjoy it, if I do enjoy it. Cheers ! 🙂
