Got to see this 5 years ago on broadway while on a school trip. It was SO amazing, I fell in love with the set, music, EVERYTHING (despite two pauses for technical difficulties and a change in the Matilda actress) I'm not ashamed to say I cried :P

I'm going to have a chance too visit London and see my first West End show. I saw the US Wicked tour, Les Miserable in an incredible tour in December, and Phantom. Those are the only shows I have seen I know are for sure on West End. I'm sort of looking for shows that aren't on Bway right now

Matthew Merril I know Wicked is on Broadway but the West End Production is sung and acted entirely in an English accent and I highly recommend trying to see Wicked in London if you can.

I've only seen Matilda once and that was in August of 2016, really need to return, especially with this cast. I sat the very last row of the stalls and agree that it's a great view, plan to sit there again when I next see the show (though I'd also love to sit front row at some point, just because of the swings).
@RukayaCesar6 жыл бұрын
Sitting right at the front is a DREAM for When I Grow Up!! I was so lucky, the first time I saw Matilda we had front row seats by luck, and that also meant I got picked on in Telly 😂 I'd say it's worth it to treat yourself and be right at the front at least once 😄
@chelsea70866 жыл бұрын
I may well have to, I try not to spend that much on tickets in general, so to splash out on the odd one won't hurt too much. The idea of being picked on scares the hell out of me but when it actually happens I quite enjoy it - it happened during Kinky Boots when Jemal was on as Lola (the 'I like being looked at and you like to look' line) 😂

I got front row seats! So excited!

Loved the vid! That would be insane for a swap at the interval. Have to say Matilda isn't my fave show but should probably give it a second chance at some point. On an unrelated note, would you be able to explain the difference between an onstage and offstage swing?
@benjaminjohnsen22245 жыл бұрын
alex101 probably a little late, but here you go: an onstage swing is a swing his has a part in the show, but also covers multiple other tracks. An offstage swing is a swing who doesn't have a regular part, but of course still have multiple tracks. They just "wait" to go on.

Never seen this show... yet! I was strangely under the impression that Matilda DIDN’T do Day Seats, & if they did, they were age/student restrictive? I may try & book a rear stalls seat, for when I’m in London at the end of July. When you say rear stalls, do you mean the very back row, or just close to it? Thanks Rukaya. Tony X
@RukayaCesar6 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure when the dayseats started but they definitely do them and you're right, it's restricted to ages 16-25 which I think is a bit sad, not sure how lenient they are with that on quiet days! Honestly I've sat riiiiight on the back row and it's still a perfect view, obviously if you can go a bit closer in the same price range then that's brilliant but I've been more than happy on the back row 😀 Thank you as always for watching!!

Is a Day show a performance at 2:30 for example, or is it something completely different? I've never heard that phrase before and if there's a chance I can get £5 tickets, I need to know!!
@RukayaCesar6 жыл бұрын
When I say dayseats that means tickets that you queue up for on the day in the morning! Scroll down to Cambridge Theatre on this page and it'll give you more info 😊 www.theatremonkey.com/dayseatfinder.htm

@rukayacesar can you get day tickets in the stalls?

Not that I'm aware of no, it's usually just in the upper circle!

For the Matildas they cast children between 8-12 and they have to be under 4ft 4. I think it's always been like that.
@RukayaCesar6 жыл бұрын
Kealan Morton ahh that makes sense then! I've probably seen quite a mix and I guess if one time I see a Matilda who is 8 and the next 12, that would make quite a difference! 😂

Last year we saw The National Theatre tour of Jane Eyre, just before they were about to come back from interval, a man came out onto the stage and said that due to an injury in the first half, the role of Jane Eyre would be played by her understudy for the 2nd half, quite a shock really but not too surprising as it was a very physical show Great video as always
@RukayaCesar6 жыл бұрын
Adendri38 oh wow!! That's nice that they let you know though, I've heard of some shows not telling the audience and then people have been thoroughly confused as to who was performing!
