set idle slightly higher., Reset Battery, Reset the ECU , do not touch the gas at all on startup and wait 16 minibuses timed. turn car off. take key out , wait 5 mins to cool. Start again with No Gas Pedal.

are we getting a dyno run? would be cool to see how much power a low compression engine can make on boost. also are you still running the variable valves in the intake? if so are they how are the vacume tubes wired, i would assume that they would need a pre turbo vacum source in order to function.

Well, to be fair on the turboing reliability comments with Rx8's. Your low compression has basically lowered the compression ratio to more friendly forced induction levels. Question is how reliable will the set up be on a healthy engine that will clearly be more knock prone.

Can someone explain why you cant put the maf AFTER the turbo and right before it goes into manifold? Why do you have to put it before the turbo?

You can. But you need the pipe to be straight. Hard to fit before the throttle body in there. Using stock diameter pipe pre turbo means saving hassle recalibrating the maf and more options in getting straight flow. Blow through is best, suck through is simply easier.

Rotary exhaust pulses are VERY strong. SHOULD have a nice flowing hotside vs a choke point. CFM is more relevant on both sides of the turbo vs desired pressure. Not only that, 6 pounds of boost from a disco potato gt28 and 6 pounds of boost from a 3282 are flowing different volumes of air to maintain that pressure. It didn't make sense to me 18 years ago when i picked up my first 2 rx7's either.....

I have found its better to have the mass air flow i. Front of the tb as well as the temp sensor being in it. For corrections. On the fuel map as temps will be higher after the turbo. Have had it this way on my rx8 turbo build for years used a cheep ebay intake and cut it down and adapted it to the intercooler pipe so the tube was also the coreect size and also having the rear o2 in the exhaust as well as the stock ecu also uses it with the front for corections as well

I have one of those xtd ones. Holding up ok from 20,000kms of use. Id probably next clutch go for a light weight aluminium one. No massive performance gains, just makes it much more lively in a na configuration. Not an essential upgrade, but it will add to your driving experience with quicker revs and downshifts when you blip.

i wouldnt lighten a flywheel on a streetcar. the rx8 probably has a really light flywheel already (im guessing) if you lightened it. then youd probably have to use way more throttle and clutch, when starting from a dead stop. as there simply isnt that much inertia to propel the car forwards. (i.e the engine will stall easier in heavy load scenarios)

I've got a 13lb flywheel in the green car. It's nice. Makes it a lot more snappy to rev. You feel it a lot when you're driving around town. The low end is less existent
