Whitney didn't write the music for the film but she did select the music producers though. You're right Tia and Tamera was considered for the role of the twins but were too old. I believe Jurnee Smollett was considered too. Solange would've been Aqua had her Dad not take her out the role to focus on her debut album.

I disagree with your take on the casting entirely main point being Chanel is supposed to be afro latino and the twins were dark skinned and Dorinda in the later books is revealed to be biracial like Galleria
