I’d say all of the summer signings when Todd boely was acting sporting director were at the request of tuchel. We had no back room staff and if boely likes to get professional people in and let them do their jobs I’d imagine he’s ask tuchel who he wants and gone and tried to do the deals for him as he would have been the only expert there? Which is probably what led to him leaving once they started getting staff in, going in a new direction perhaps tuchel wasn’t happy with and perhaps he didn’t get his first choice targets, who knows but there’s no way tuchel would be standing for egbhali and co around the training ground etc etc sticking their noses in.

Im starting to look at Boehly as the good guy now. I kinda understand why it’s been a mix of different signings with crazy risky players. You absolutely cannot accept Clearlake’s approach on the stadium situation and transfer strategies. Kinda gross behavior too letting Boehly catch all the slack while the rest of the investors being the real reason this club has been shambolic.
@hnaku874812 күн бұрын
Boehly has the sporting background for sure. I don't think Clearlake would have been too popular during bidding period among fans if Boehly didn't lead the bid with his Dodgers reputation. Hence why he was put forward as the face, despite lesser share. Once Clearlake got in, it was up to them what to do with the club. So we are here.

I have heard rumours that Todd was planning to buy Chelsea from Roman before. When they imposed sanctions and ordered the sale Todd no longer had a partner to put up the money so he joined forces with Clearlake. Rumour has it that this second patrner was Amanda Stavaley who went into partnership with Arabia to buy Newcastle. Todd and Amanda are friends and from what I understand she has left Newcastle. It is possible that she has reunited with Todd and they are planning to buy out Clearlake.

Having experience of the private equity world it is obvious that the pension funds and family offices that provide Clearlake with their funding will be asking at every quarterly call 'what is going on at Chelsea? When is the value going to increase?'. Beghali may own Clearlake but the investors will call the shots. On that basis Bohley buying them out may be better but (a) at over £2bn he'll probobly need another financial partner - same problems? and (b) Chelsea are not worth what they paid for us so the buying party will be asking the selling party to take a loss , hard for Clearlakes investors to swallow. Difficult times boys and girls.

I agree. In terms of business direction those differences seem pretty mild. I think they just had and argument and their egos started to clash and now they can't stand each other. It's in both of their best interest to make Chelsea work so either they get it together or they find a way to do that without having to see or speak to each other. Both should work short term. I wouldn't be surprised if that ownership Drama just starts calming down a bit and then lingers around until one party buys out the other next summer.

It was pretty obivous how Boehly and Eghbali think about the Club. When we had our first game last season vs. LFC they set near the FSG Dude, Kinda trying to dunk on him with the Caicedo signing. Both Boehley and Eghbali having big Egos. I doubt Eghali aka Clearlake will sell their Shares. Considering how much was already spend on top off the initial fee. We are looking at 1,5bil ininital for buying 61% of the club. 104mil in loses to stay within FFP/PSR. Buying the two hotels for almost 80mil. So another 200mil plus their share in transfer/agent fees for new signings. I guess that sums up at approx 2,3bil spend so far. So any bid below 2,5bil isnt something fancy by Clarelake at all.

I look at this a little differently than most comments and media reports regarding who may be in the better position as far as a potential buyout. Boehly and two others own 39 percent that they invested from personal finance whereas Clearlake have used investors money which leads them in a position to answer to many different shareholders and a Clearlake board. One thing boards and investors don’t like is uncertainty and conflict. It does not help that the team has struggled and spent a large sum of money ( but in fairness they have brought in a lot of money through player sells) . I just don’t think Boehly and the other two that comprise the 39 percent are potentially under as much outside pressure. Also if they have to buy out Boehly etc will this not put FFP at risk
