The touchdown to Herbert showed some growth for fields. He avoided pressure, broke contain and instead of running found the open man. He drew a lot of attention once he left the pocket and that will definitely translate to the regular season

i dont understand what people expected from fields last year. why would fields throw a pass to someone like dante pettis, who had 4 drops on 19 receptions, when good WRs would have 80+ receptions by the time they had 4 drops. even mooney had 3 drops on 40 receptions. velus had 1 on 9. the drop to catch rate for bears WR last year was laughably bad. fields ran the ball so much, because that was the only chance they had at winning. he was a one man show last year, and it wasnt by choice. the rest of the offense was just that bad. this has nothing to do with growth. its called having a roster with more than one playmaker like it was last year when fields was the only play maker.

It's always people hating on fields like he wasn't the only good thing from last years roster. He's better than any QB DJ Moore played for by a long shot. It was really the rest of the team not carrying their weight. But now this team has upgrades in all of the key positions they needed. Plus their RB room is impressive on top of being able to use both Moore and Claypool for jet sweeps. They got a much larger playbook to work with now
