Just a tip for Regenerators: if you aren't using a rifle/using the infinite Sweeper/Handcannon, you can just shoot it repeatedly even without hitting the plaga cores to kill it. It still has a maximum amount of damage it can take albeit it being very high. You can also use this against the Iron Maidens and the Iron Maiden SP. Again, you can skip one quest from prior to Ch7 except for the Dangerous Mutt quest since there is a Blue Medallion 3 quest prior to the castle that gives 5x Spinel. That means you get the Special Upgrade Ticket once you enter the Castle instead of getting it in the Catapults area. Also you can sell the special weapons(especially the Handcannon if you have it) once you use up all of its ammo, and then just buy them back when you have to upgrade them. You probably won't do this with the Sweeper since SMG ammo is accessible from Ch2 while Magnum ammo comes very late. Sweeper's stagger is still SMG-level which makes it amazing for casual/any difficulty runs and it's my own preferred weapon for S+ Pro runs. I can't use it with the Pinstripe though since I press reload too instinctively and it kills me.

I love the sweeper but using it plus the HC is beyond broken provided that you don’t mind dropping a few dollars to buy the ticket(s) from the online store as well as primal knife upgrade. My problem with the sweeper is it lacks stopping power so it takes forever to kill some enemies whereas the HC has absurd firepower but atrocious accuracy and rate of fire. They both have their uses in certain situations but if people can do their runs with one or the other then they’re ultra giga Chad beasts. Your strat is pretty good too! Also, I agree the pinstripe emotes are so annoying lmfao

@@Oggre yep. That’s what I did. I bought about 8 of them for the weapons I want. When you start a new game, you get them all back. Use 3 for sweeper, handcannon and primal knife for infinite and sell the rest on that playthrough to buy the single use rpg for bosses later in the game. It’s still hard playing the game tho. Buying the tickets just makes it less grindy and desperate trying to get all those spinels and you get the infinite upgrades as soon as you get to the first merchant. I’m glad I bought them. It reduces my suffering a little and saves time doing all those errands 👍

I was gonna do a sweeper s+ attempt but with your handcannon guide, and when I searched your channel you had just posted one for the sweeper lmao. Just completed it and got my cat ears so thanks! Having used both with infinite ammo gotta say the handcannon felt waaay easier early game, when you get the damage of the sweeper up it melts but at the beginning big groups can take an eternity. Like with the handcannon you just use it as a shotty and run while oneshotting enemies and skipping past them, not really having to stop at all unless you want to, plus you can collat which makes it even more efficient. Novistadors are such a breeze with the sweeper though, maybe that alone makes it better lmao.

The reason you keep getting handgun ammo is because the default case sometimes turns drops into handgun ammo drops (indicated by the briefcase next to it on the right hand side of the screen). Switching to a different case would reduce or completely eliminate handgun ammo drops. A

There were a couple of times on the village that I for some reason had to clean all the ganados making it way harder for myself for no good reason, and when I would ignore them I would get a lot of damage. This guide helped me a lot identifying all the bits I was doing wrong or more messy. Was your run exactly like the one on this video? I started trying yesterday and for example, when he took the first Flashing Grenade on the first chapter, I had 3 enemies around while he only had one, so I thought that this Guide maybe wasn't updated or something 😅

Turns out you're actually getting a lot of love on reddit too man, people are talking alot about this guide, and thats actually how i discovered it. I gotta say, this guide has helped make this speedrun so much easier that i cant even put it into words. For people that find that getting chicago sweeper is too much of a chore, you can just use the handcannon which is much easier to get through merceneries. Then you can either straightaway do pro S+. Or you can do hardcore S+ to get chicken hat, ashley armor and also prep you for pro S+.

the handcannon's slow fire rate and accuracy made it hard for me to rely on it on S+

@@eg7167 It true that the handcannon is inaccurate, my accuracy tend to drop from high 80s to high 70s with it. That's why i treat it as a shotgun, use it for close and mid range. Sometimes long range, becuz im getting better at it. And also i still keep a pistol and a sniper rifle for longer range stuffs.

@@voidcheque7019 i used both lol, they are both equally awful at long distance so its up to you on which to use. i find the handcannon just slightly more suitable for me since if youre extremely patient you can still hit somewhat long shots, and it also works pretty good for bosses, but the chicago sweeper still holds its ground against it.

i woke up and saw your video playing and i was like oh sweet a RE4 playthrough with a cool sounding grateful guy on commentary iv been watching since, love that you basically use godmode on the game and still make it look challenging enough to enjoy without just bulldozing everything, i have a potato pc so i enjoy watching such videos so that when i eventually get to play i wont be too clueless, and thank you for a great video.

Tip for saving a little more time at the Regenerator in the trash pick the pistol e run until you are in front of the bridge. Them faster aim in the zombie close to Ashley shoot him before he catches her, so you cross the bridge while still working than kill the zombies, so you don`t have to mess with the regenerator. It will disappear and you will save a minute or two. The monster will not deal damage on you this way.

*IMPORTANT* if you use the auto save feature for hardcore or standard, it will add the amount of time that has passed since the auto save occured. So if you mess up and use your auto save, it's going to count the time against you no matter what, which really sucks if you're speedrunning.

I found out later that when you die, if you hit quit and then reload your most recent autosave instead of hitting "continue" or "load game" from the death screen, it will restart the timer back to what it was originally. Basically always quit the game and reload your last autosave from the load menu if you need to go back to your last autosave. I was able to get the s+ because someone finally told me this lol

I also just realized that you mentioned 3 saves, if you're trying this on professional then there is no autosave. BUT, if you are on professional and need to go back to your last typewriter save, you should still quit the game and then reload your last save to avoid adding time to it

This is awesome. I just played this game for the first time over my spring break, and while I'm in school I dont really have time to play games, so this is a great way for me to enjoy these high level playthroughs since I don't have time to do multiple play throughs to get armor and bonus weapons. Keep up the great work! Maybe I can work on getting these bonuses over my summer break.

I‘m about to give up man. I thought the part where you run away from the church with Ashley would be easy because the rest of the guide has been going good so far. When I left Ashley and entered the church though, an enemy picked her up right when I entered the church and it counted as her getting kidnapped despite me having the knight armour equipped. And my run has been going downhill ever since I experienced that major f up I don‘t want to repeat 40min of progress all over again…

Sorry to hear about that! I’m still not sure if that’s a bug or not because sometimes she gets grabbed and I’ll enter the church and she just teleports. But try taking a break! That always helps me, and for that part hug the right side more and shotgun some feet and it’ll be swift! Good luck if you do try again!

If it helps you can use stealth to make that part easier. After you backstab the first woman, there's a rock to the side of the church gate you can hide behind. You can then wait for two more enemies to go into the church. This makes it easier to sprint past everyone since the graveyard is now less populated.

I think the handgun ammo you kept getting was because of your attaché case. I’m pretty sure that’s what it means when the case symbol shows next to the ammo you pick up
