The debug screen you saw was a crash handler that was actually used by Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask (built into the engine iirc). In OoT, a crash will display a little bar in the upper left corner. It will be either Yellow or Red depending if the crash is debuggable or not. If it is yellow, there was a button code you could input to pull that crash screen up.

When I clicked this video, I wasn't expecting it to be about The Missing Link. That was quite an impressive video you did there. I haven't played The Missing Link myself, but it does seem like a good rom-hack to check out. I just wish Nintendo would stop trying to take down fan projects because, to me, that is like taking down drawings of copyrighted characters off of a school wall that had been drawn by children.

ZFG's playthrough was kinda hilarious. He did a sort of accidental "sequence break" by getting through the 2-3-1 area before the hint, not recognizing a missed exit for a long time, and like a true speedrunner, trying several outside-the-box methods to find something hidden in the sanctuary and the town that didn't exist. 🤣
@ErectedGasCan
@ErectedGasCan Жыл бұрын
I love it when ZFG somehow ends up pulling all the tricks in the books of speedrunning just because he dashes through something far too fast. 😂 Also all the times he suddenly stops and turns back because chat convinces him what he called a "blue rupee" was actually Ice arrows or something like that. 😂

This video is so good! There’s not a single moment where I wasn’t hooked on what was going on, even when I didn’t fully understand what was happening. You explaining what the music was or describing why it was so good, and the part where the guy was eating deku nuts was hilarious.

Great vid. Played this back when it was first released but couldn't manage to beat Arborachnid with keyboard controls. If you're interested there's another really great ROMhack by Kaze that rebuilds OoT in Mario64, fully accounting for sm64's physics. Even has it's own version of the skulltula quest with 120 stars that gives unique powerups at certain milestones.

My preferred Project 64 keyboard setup is as follows (requires a 104-key keyboard): - Analog Stick: WASD (or ,AOE on the Dvorak Layout) - D Pad: Arrow Keys - A: Numpad 1 - B: Numpad 3 - Z: Numpad 5 - L: Numpad 7 - R: Numpad 9 - C Up: Numpad 8 - C Down: Numpad 2 - C Left: Numpad 4 - C Right: Numpad 6 As you can see, most controls are clustered under the right hand on the numpad, allowing for lightning-fast responses.

at first, i thought the title was referring to like a Development Story, of the Cucco being difficult to code for the Zelda-64's...but then you pronounced 'Cucco' correctly ([koo-koh], according to Breath of the Wild's Daruk, in the English voice-acting) so i decided to stick around...and i got a nice little preview of a mod ive been wanting to try but havent yet (im a fan of Kaze Emanuar's work) so im glad i did :D

I miss Link being left handed, and I really wish they would at least have an option to choose which hand he uses the sword with. I never liked them changing him to a righty, and I'm a righty. I just loved that he was unique that way. The world is righty, shooters hold the guns on the right. It was nice having Link be this unassuming little scrappy dude, swinging from the other side of the screen and kicking ass.

The small exploding green guys are called "baby dodongos." Leevers are the annoying things that are in the desert that constantly spin. As a massive n64 zelda fan, I’ve known about the missing link and have had it installed on my Everdrive 64 since it released. And yet I’ve never played it. It in my mind is so high in importance, I have been leaving it for the perfect time in my life to play. Possibly when I retire, and decide to play both the original 2 n64 games and this as well inbetween. Or maybe when I have a child and they’re ready to learn about my favorite game ever.
