After you have washed the fledglings stomachs out do you give them any fresh fish to eat? Otherwise they will just fly off somewhere and eat plastic all over again. There are so many things now made from plastic I cannot see it stopping any time soon. However educating people not to drop the plastics and take them home for recycling is a start. Plus have these plastic dredgers constantly collecting from the sea and especially that island that will also help. I know it’s not enough but it all has to start somewhere. I recently tried to buy a new stainless steel flush plate for my toilet. However they now only make plastic ones with a stainless steel coloured film covering the plastic. People are fooled into thinking it’s stainless steel but it’s not, as a lot of companies are not honest. So it’s up to us to reduce the number of items we buy that are made out of plastic. I've been avoiding plastic packaging wherever possible for years now. I often pay more for alternatives in glass packaging. 💜
