The difference between the book and the series is that Wuhuan in the book is only the Goddess empress descendant of Phoenix, she doesn't become the Goddess of monsters, so destroying her was just saying what she has done and taking away her powers, the same happens with Xuanyi who only exists in the second book "Hidden God", the continuation of the first book.

Although in the drama they make 4 real Gods face Wuhuan, in reality even one could against her and effortlessly. But I understand that they wanted to generate a bit of drama like at the beginning when they faced Yuanxi, but with Yuanxi I understand because he was also a real God and the monster king, but here they gave Wuhuan a lot of prominence which she doesn't deserve and it diminished a little the power of the real gods, what could be said is that the four gods were not quite well being asleep for many years and without cultivating, that's why they needed to support each other but I would have preferred that only one of them face her or not show as if it had cost them a lot of effort. In the book Wuhan felt true terror towards the real Gods, this Wuhuan on the other hand is too self-centered and is very ignorant.

Here it's a mistake of Wuhuan, her ego makes her believe that she can be more powerful than the real Gods but it's a lie, she did not witness their battles against Xuangi either, she was simply carried away by ignorance.
